Fitness Bootcamp-How Not To Do It

Ranked #22,674 in Healthy Living, #329,178 overall

You have seen all the advertising and hype about fitness bootcamps. In fact you are so pumped about losing weight and getting fit that you go straight out and sign up for a fitness bootcamp exercise program. You can't wait and start counting down the days. When you get there it all starts to fall apart. So where did it go wrong?

Try these three tips for a start to see if they describe what happened to you.

Fitness Bootcamp Mistake 1

Over Expectation

This is my number one mistake to avoid at fitness bootcamp. What were you expecting when you joined? Did you seriously think about what realistic targets might be? It is fine and dandy to want to look like Lisa Evangelista, but you cannot buck the basic body shape you have. Work towards improving your basic body composition and you will look fantastic at the end.

Take it one step at a time. Set achievable goals so you can celebrate quickly and frequently. Thrash through those fitness bootcamp exercises regularly. Before you know it, they will have added up to something far more significant.

Fitness Bootcamp Mistake 2

Choosing Badly

Fitness Bootcamp Run In The ParkLife is all about choices and choosing the right fitness bootcamp for you, for what your goals are, is so important. Don't enroll in a military fitness bootcamp format if you are shy and need a more supportive network. You would probably be better off with maybe a womens fitness bootcamp or maybe even a retreat.

Visit the bootcamp before hand and see if they do a free sampler session. It will be worth it to have a first go to see how the instructor interacts with individuals and the group dynamics. It will all be new to you; remember that.

Fitness Bootcamp Mistake 3

Being Completely Unprepared

You can't just enroll in bootcamp classes and then breeze up thinking everything will take care of itself. Some small preparation will set you up for getting the most out of a camp. Start by practicing simple frequent hydration to get your body flushed out and yourself in the habit of drinking water regularly.

Definitely set a decent sleep pattern at least a week before, preferably 2 weeks prior to, beginning camp workouts. Make sure your body and your mind are primed for the effort of participating in a fitness bootcamp and the classes you have paid for.
