Fitness Circuit Training Trumps Cardio Workouts

What is your idea of exercising? If in the past you've been used to running on a treamill much like a hamster in a wheel then I have news...

Running is close to worthless when it comes to wanting to lose body fat and tone up. Why? Sure you burn calories, but believe it or not, not all calories are created equal. When you exercise the body turns to different fuel sources for it's energy to get you through the end.

With running and other steady state cardio routines your body actually turns to your muscle to get energy. That means you lose muscle mass. And because muscle is vital to having a speedy metabolism if you lose muscle than your fat burning metabolism slows down...

Basically you burn fewer calories per day making it harder to lose body fat!

But there is a cardio program that is above all this... not only will you burn calories but you burn fat while actually maintaining or increasing your lean muscle mass!

And instead of decreasing your metabolism, these workouts actually increase it... so you burn more calories during the workout and while you're sitting on the couch watching TV afterwards! And this super workout... Fitness Circuit Training!

What The Heck Are Circuits

Circuits are basically a combination of strength training and cardio workouts in one. The idea is that you perform a series of exercises (normally 6-10) back to back with little or no rest. And by exercises I don't mean running, or jogging (though it can make up one of the exercises).

I mean doing real women's strength training moves... push-ups, squats, lunges, mt. climbers, you get the picture.

Circuits can be done several ways, the most popular method is to do each exercise either for a specific rep count or for a set amount of time. For example, you can do 12 reps of push-ups or you can do as many as you can in 45 seconds before moving to the next.

Research agrees with me... circuits give great cardio benefits like endurance, heart health, lung health and so on and so on. But it also goes further with having the benefits of strength training too... increase metabolism, increased fat burning, increased lean muscle mass. As a matter of fact research revealed that you can keep your metabolism boosted for 48 hours after you've completed a high intense fitness circuit training workout.

Below I have added a killer circuit workout for you to try out!
