5. It recruits many muscles at the same time so you get more "functional" fitness. A main philosophy behind the program is that if you build muscle, this will kick start your metabolism and this will inturn aid in burning up excess fat in the surrounding tissues, which is exactly what happens. A lot of people trying to lose weight make the mistake of thinking it is all about cardio, like going for long runs, but this is not true, you get much better results with the method Chalean teaches which is a combination of muscle works and cardio. It's not about bulking up either, it's about getting leaner and tighter, more toned muscles.
There are three main work out parts in the training program, being weights, cardio and abs. The weights are about 30 mins sessons and Chalene teaches you how to use the weights so that feel heavier than they are. I know that kind of sounds stupid but what I mean is it's all about low reps and controlled resistance moves rather than loads of horrible high number repititions. The cardio sessions are about 45-50 minutes each and then the addominals are about 15 mins. Some other at home workout program are way too long in my opinion, I mean who has 60 mins spare every day to do follow a program, but Chalean Extreme is only 35 mins each day.

There should be minimal rest between exercises, and rest for only 30 seconds between circuits. This workout is designed to stimulate the muscles to create a solid toned look, while simultaneously burning fat - cardio and resistance training in one workout. It doesn't get any better than that!
