Fitness

A balanced diet is one that contains carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, mineral salts and fibers in the right proportions. Fats include monounsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats and fatty acids. The vitamins form the functional foods, proteins form the body building food and the fats constitute the concentrated energy sources of the body.

For an individual to maintain a healthy and disease free body, he should have a balanced diet plan. It is also important that one should consume foodstuffs of all the food groups. Selection of food items in such a way that their diet contains all the above-mentioned components of a balanced diet is also important. But consuming a balanced diet does not mean that one should eat excess quantities of minerals and vitamins. Over nutrition also causes lots of problems like obesity, high blood pressure and many over nutrition disorders. Obesity may result in heart problems diabetes etc.

Brisk Walking 

Walking

Brisk walking or fast walking is a part of warming up exercise where one gets the best out of walking when compared to sow walking. In fact an hour of steady and brisk walking has almost double the effect of slow walking. The person breathes deeper than normal and will be able to hold a conversation while walking briskly.

The advantage of brisk walking includes decrease of bone density and prevents the weakening of muscles with age. It also boosts the strength in individuals. In the case of old people it helps to control the effect of age. Other benefits include maintaining the production of human growth hormones, maintaining normal blood pressure, decreasing chances of strokes, heart diseases Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hip fractures can be avoided.

Morning and evenings are the best times to take a nice walk. Morning walks creates freshness in the body and also produces a sense of accomplishment to carry out throughout the day. Evening walks helps to cap off the day in a healthy way.

Gymnasium 

A gymnasium or gym in short, is a place for exercise. It contains exercise equipments for physical exercise and may include aerobics classes also. Along with exercises, various sporting activities and massaging facilities with steam bath may be included, depending upon the standard of the gym. Speaking in terms of exercises, gymnasiums contain fitness instructors who help the customers to develop their body. People normally visiting the gyms include teenagers and professional body builders.

An ideal gym consists of all the necessary equipments for proper bodybuilding. Stretching Exercises are the first step to start bodybuilding in the daily routine. Additional facilities like steam bath and massaging may or may not be included. Privately owned high class gyms with state of the art equipments are visited by celebrities, boxers, wrestlers etc. Such gyms also include gym instructors to assist the customers develop their body. The role of gym instructors, in general is to guide the customers in a step-by-step manner. This is important because an irregular pattern of exercise may result in serious health problems.
