Myth 1: Calcium does not build bones.
You probably remember your parents reminding you as a kid to always drink your milk or regularly intake calcium to help build your bones. This has been accepted widely to the point of everyone believing this as a common nutritional knowledge. Therefore, David Wolfe believes this is one of the biggest nutritional misconception or myth there is.In fact, you will find in various health stores that there are various calcium pills being sold. This demand for calcium supplements followed after several women have suffered from osteoporosis. The idea behind taking calcium supplements or increasing their overall calcium intake was to help build stronger bones that prevent various bone defects.
But David Wolfe would strongly point the fact that it isn't actually calcium that builds your bones. Apparently, this idea first came about hundred of years ago when people found out that bones are made out of calcium. So, people started assuming this idea that when you increase your intake of calcium that it will also help in building your bones. In reality, it only delivers as much as 1 or 2 percent increase in bone density, which is not really good enough.
Myth 2: Silicon and magnesium help increase bone density.
Now that David Wolfe has debunked the common myth that calcium helps to increase bone density, the next obvious question is this: what mineral helps to increase bone density? David offers not one, but two, minerals that will help build strong bones and prevent health conditions associated with weak bones. These minerals are silicon and magnesium.
The key here is incorporating sources of these minerals into your diet to ensure that you are getting the required level to build your bone density. There are quite a few natural sources of magnesium, which includes cacao. This is also good for strengthening your teeth wherein it contains natural chemicals that fight Streptococci mutans that are responsible for the formation of cavities. Silicon, on the other hand, can be found in various types of herbs like nettle, oat straw, alfalfa, or horse tail.

Myth 3: Chocolate is good for your teeth.
He goes on to say though that chocolate is not generally bad for the teeth. It is the sugar content present in chocolates that cause damage to your teeth. But still, there are existing research studies that indicate people who eat chocolates have healthier teeth as compared to those who don't. However, some more variables have to be considered before any conclusion are to be made based on those results.
Myth 4: Chocolate is one of the best weight loss food ever.
Although many crave for chocolate, most people tend to neglect this particular craving in fear of gaining more weight than they would have wanted. But David Wolfe breaks this particular nutritional myth by saying that chocolate is ideal for those who want to lose weight. First off, chocolate helps to increase your rate of metabolism and belongs in Wolfe's Super Foods category. Second, it also helps to suppress your appetite so you are likely to eat less than usual.
Myth 5: Not all types of Vitamin C is good for you.
Since Wolfe has suggested vitamin C supplement as one of the most important thing that your body can get, he also warns about going for the natural forms only. After all, there are several synthetic forms of vitamin C being manufactured in the market and sold while claiming to deliver tons of health benefits. So, you might as well go for natural plant sources that are rich in vitamin C such as acerola cherry.
By going natural, you are not only assured of maximum health benefits but you can save tons of money from not having to buy expensive synthetic vitamin C supplements.
