Time Saving Ways to Raise Your Rank
You should update it regularly both to keep it interesting, and to move up in rank.
It's easy, and can be done in five minutes (or less!)
A regularly updated lens will have readers coming back, so be sure to mention this on your page.
And, of course, this lens gets updated Monday through Friday, five days a week!
New Ideas
- News - Using the basic text module or text list module, create your own news section so that you can add recent relevant news stories onto your lens. Additional news updates give you something to do another day.
- Lens Feature - Add a module where every week you feature a related and interesting lens
- Recipe Ideas - Add a fun and related recipe to your page (look through cookinglight.com and allrecipes.com). Copy and paste into a text module!
- Definitions - Use a site like dictionary.com and define some of your keywords for users who might be new to your topic.
Quick, Glorious Modules
- Wikipedia Module - This is a great module for adding basic information about your topic in seconds. Just type in your search term!
- Photos - All text? Add some color to your lens with a picture or two. Choose from flicker, add your own photo with polaroid, or just upload one to an text module
- Striking Titles - Make your titles pop with a black box module or big arrow link
- Blogs - Link into relevant blogs with the RSS feed module, or if you don't know of a specific blog, try google blog search.
- Interaction - Add a poll, duel or voting module.
- Twitter - Add a twitter feed about your subject to your lens. There are lots of factual twitter feeds.
- Group Discussions - Add this module and start a conversation.
- Google Maps - Show off a location featured in your lens and give your visitors some perspective!
- Poll - add a fun, silly poll into your lens to give it more personality!
- Countdown! - use the countdown module to alert your viewers about impending dates.
Honorable Mention
While this doesn't count as an update, it does increase lensrank!

- Great ideas... for those days when you really need something new to aim for. Branching out to the modules that aren't commonly used is important. Also photographs - everyone likes to see them and they're still worth 1,000 words.
