What is Fixed Odds Financial Trading?

A brief introduction to Fixed Odds Trading

Trading on the financial markets is not for the faint hearted, especially if you choose spread betting, where you can lose more money than the original stake.

Fixed Odds trading is a much safer way of getting access to profits from the markets.

Fixed Odds is growing in popularity but is still relatively unknown in mainstream financial trading.

With this type of betting or trading you can control all the aspects of your trade.
For instance,
You choose the stake or bet level.
You decide on your level of risk
Pick a market, either Forex or Indices
Decide on the type of trade
You choose the time frame for the trade - anything from 10 mins to 6 months.

If the trade you are running starts to go against you - then you have the option of selling it back to the bookmaker. Of course you don't get back the amount you staked, but you can recover some of it.

You can also sell your trade to take a profit before it gets to full expiry. Let's say that you place a trade for 9 days to win 10% on your stake. It is entirely possible that the trade could be in profit, by say 6% on day 2, so why wait another 7 days for 4%. Just sell the trade and re-invest the profit.

I've done that more than once and it gives you a bit of a buzz to profit that quickly.

Financial markets trading with fixed odds is mostly done through one bookmaker called Bet On Markets

There are a number of membership services that provide trades through BOM at different levels of risk/return ratio.

They start as low as 3% return, with some services offering high risk strategies of 40%+.

My own service is called Profit Vortex and I supply forex currency pair trades to my members. Returns can be anywhere from 10% to 50+% for trade in the timescales of 7-14 days.

STOP PRESS:

12th Feb 09
You get a great buzz when a one touch trade wins in less than an hour and gives you a healthy 20% return.

2nd Dec o8
Average return per trade over 28 winning trades is 22%+

23rd Sept 08
The Platinum winning run hit 50 before we had a loss. I have introduced new currency pair trades that are giving excellent results.

6th July 08
Platinum winning run continues. Now up to 38 trades.
I asked my members if they were becoming bored with my emails telling them of another winning trade. Here is just one reply......

I'm not bored in the least. I'm absolutely delighted. Congratulations.
David.

Since I started the 30 days trades, they have all been 100% profit makers. Here are the returns: 66%, 57%, 60%, 61% and 76%!

14th June 08
Platinum winning run now up to 29 trades.
If you had joined us on the 30th April and invested £1000, by now you would have almost tripled your money.

27th May 08
Platinum members have now had 20 straight wins. Last loss was on 25th March 08

As of 21st Feb 08 Profit Vortex has had 61 winning trades from 65, since April 26 - 07, when we started to offer trades on the Forex £$ market.
Our Platinum members have been raking it in during the last 10 months.

6th March 2008
BOM have added a new feature to their trading platform. You can now 'Tweak' a trade after you have placed it. How it works - if you want to change the level on a trade rather than just sell it then the tweak option is the one to use. BOM will price up the cost of the tweak for you and then you decide if there is enough value in the trade to accept.

26th April 2008
In Feb 08 I introduced the 30 day trade for my platinum members on the forex £$ exchange. These trades have high returns. So far the first two trades have been winners at 66% and 57%. I offer one every month to back up the regular trades on my Profit Vortex membership.

Trading the World's Financial Markets with Fixed Odds.

Welcome to the Markets

It is estimated that the daily turnover in the FOREX market is anywhere from US$1.3 trillion to US$4.5 trillion.

On an average day, 1.46 billion shares, valued at $46.1 billion, trade on the New York Stock Exchange and £20.9 billion shares trade on the London Stock Exchange.

However, it has been estimated that 90% of people who play the markets lose (including the so called professionals).

What makes the 10% successful?

Good money management.

Your capital is your livelihood, don't lose it. A good rule of thumb is never invest more than 5-10% of your capital in one trade, then, if you lose a trade, you are still in the game.

Watch the World.

Become a news junkie and be aware of current events. The stock market is emotional and events like wars, terrorism and interest rate movements can have a large immediate impact on prices.

Let your winners run, and kill your losers quickly.

Speaks for itself, but if your winning let it run. It's tempting to take your money while you're ahead. But you can make even more money by compounding your winnings.

Technical Analysis

This is a fancy name for the study of the stock market charts. People have spent lifetimes studying and developing charting techniques. Charting software can be bought for £1000s, or you can find it for free on the Internet. Develop your own charting plan by using free or low cost subscription financial information.

Greed and Fear

Don't be scared, be wealthy

Can you learn not to let your emotions influence your trading? There is plenty of greed in a rising market and fear in a falling market. Don't attempt to pick tops or bottoms, instead look for trends before trading. They say that fear is greater than greed.

Trading in the UK means your profits are tax-free

With Fixed Odds trading you can bet up, down or sideways on a number of globally traded markets. You can trade quickly and simply. Your risk is limited to your stake at all time (unlike spread betting) yet high leverage is still possible.

This means that you can never lose more on a trade than you place.

You can chose the closing time and date for the trade, which can be as little as 10 minutes or as long as 6 months.

You can adjust your open position to suit any change in the markets. This means that you can cut a loss or lock in a profit.

You don't run the risk of being stopped out in a highly volatile market, as you can with other forms of financial trading.

In a range bound or static market you can make good profits.

You can hedge your existing share portfolio cheaply against a sudden turn in the markets.

Secret Trading Tips

Insider information to guide your trading

Statistically, the best day to be a Bull on the Dow Jones (Wall St) is Monday. The best day to be a Bear is Wednesday.

The best months to be a Bull on the Dow Jones are March, August and December. The best months to be a Bear are January, February and September.

Statistically, the S&P500 shows a bullish bias during the last trading day and the first 3 - 4 days of the month.

You can expect the bullish bias known as the Santa Claus rally to typically kick in on the Dow Jones around the end of November and last until the end of the year.

Be aware (by doing your research) of things like the American Federal Bank interest rate announcements. Watch how the currencies and other Indices react to it. These can be good times to see volatility in prices, especially on the US$.

You may have heard the phrase, 'When America sneezes, we all catch a cold'. Well stock markets around the world tend to react to America. Just watch the markets when the Dow Jones opens at 2.30pm GMT.

Trending Channels: Follow the trend in any market, either up or down. It is easier to follow a trend rather than to try and pick the highs and lows within a given trend.

Currency Markets: Watch out for the goods things for a currency such as, a rise in interest rates, a rise in GDP or a rise exports and a fall in unemployment.

Bad news is the opposite of the above, plus any natural disaster, political tensions or terrorist threats that may happen.

If you want to trade the financial markets from within a membership where the trades are supplied for you and you do not need to do any of your own research, then try Profit Vortex

Forex trading with Fixed Odds

Much safer than spread betting

I use Fixed Odds to trade on the Forex market. Specifically on the GBP/USD, EUR/USD, USD/CAD, JPY/USD, EUR/GBP currency pairs. I make regular profits for my members by offering trade alerts based on my constant research of the financial markets.

FACT FILE

Some of the terms used on the financial markets and Fixed Odds trading.

Fact File:
The Forex market is basically just one currency against another, like the £ against the US$. The £ is nicknamed 'cable' because the US$ and the GB£ were the first currencies to be traded by telegraphic cable. This can be an exciting 24hr market.

The FTSE 100, Dow Jones and Nasdaq are called the Indices. They represent the average price of the top shares traded on that exchange. The FTSE 100 is English, while the Dow Jones and Nasdaq are American.

A Bull market is a rising market. A Bear market is when the Indices are descending.

Types of trade:

Double up (or down) Profit from a rise (or fall) between now and the close of trading today.

Intraday Up (or Down) Profit from an intraday market rise or fall.

Super Double: Profit on consecutive intraday market trends.

Bull/Bear: Profit if the market rises or falls between now and a chosen date from 5 days to 6 months in the future.

Expiry Range: Profit from predicting the level of the market on a chosen date.

One Touch, or No Touch: Profit if the market either touches or doesn't touch a chosen barrier.

Barrier Range: Profit if the market trades within a given range

Double Touch: Profit if market touches two barriers.

Up or Down: Profit if the market trades out of a range.

The Run Bets: A series of quick trades (usually measured in seconds), that depend on the movement in a chosen market.
