After years of suffering from sciatica I decided to find a way to fix my sciatica and things I could do to prevent it from returning.
Things I Learned in My Search to Fix My Sciatica
One of the first things I learned was that doctors never gave me ways to prevent sciatica because they were more concerned with my present condition than how to prevent it in the future so, I had to find my own prevention methods for the future and a way to fix my sciatica when it did occur. The first thing I found was Doctor Bests e-book called "Sciatica Self Care," you can get a free copy by filling out the form at the bottom of this lens. Sciatica Self Care to Help Fix My Sciatica
Whenever I began to suffer from severe lower back pain, which I now know is sciatica, I would use a heating pad to try to relive the pain, felt good when applied but, it was still there and sometimes worse when the heat was removed. Then I read Dr. Best's e-book and discovered the pain was due to inflammation of the sciatic nerve so to fix the sciatica I need to use cold (ice) to help relieve the pain. What a world of difference that made, an ice pack for twenty minutes every hour to two hours, eased the pain and did not make it worse when removing the ice pack Exercise to Fix My Sciatica

You can help speed up the healing process and keep the sciatic nerve pain from returning by doing some exercises that extend or stretch the back which helps to centralize the pain in the lower back, this is another thing in the e-book that helped me fix my sciatica and by continuing them after the back has healed keeps' it from returning. These exercises are known as the "MacKenzie Method" and are specifically designed to stretch the back and help strengthen the back muscles, by strengthening the back muscle your spinal cord will stand a better chance of staying in alignment. A misaligned spinal cord pinches the sciatic nerve causing the pain that is felt in the lower back, legs, and sometimes all the way down to your toes.
Surgery to Fix My Sciatica
On a few of the visits to my doctor he would suggest that perhaps surgery was the way to fix my sciatica but, after research on results of surgical procedures to fix sciatica I found that surgery only helps about one out of one hundred people so, I decided that surgery would be the last resort. Surgery can cause more damage than on occasion so, before you opt for surgery you may want to take a closer look at other thing that can help you with your sciatica, a good place to start is at my web site there you can find ten more videos by doctor best explaining in more detail what causes, and what fixes the sciatica that you suffer from.
