Microsoft will fix the one red ring of death if ur 3 year warranty has not expired. So if u have had a 360 for less then 3 years or had it fixed for less then 3 years just call them and they will fix the e 74 red rings death!

Xbox 360 3 RED Lights - Repair Quick Manual for XBox 360 3 RED Lights
Step 1
1. Open Xbox 360 Case
Remove the Front Face Plate from your Xbox. At the front of the xbox 360, insert your thumb into the door that covers the two USB ports. Squeezing the upper and lower sides of the face plate, pull out the face plate. Remember, don't force it.
You will see a Microsoft sticker, remove this! Remove both grey plastic endplates, follow by four clips locking the top half of the case to the bottom half.
Continue to remove rest of cover until you get to the same picutes as the picture shown

2. Removeing and Preparing the Heat Sinks.
We going to reaffix the heat sinks using a method that will give more uniform support.
First, we have got to get the X-clamps off.
2.1 Use a terminal driver, pry off each corner of the clamp on the underside of the motherboard PCB.
2.2 Once both clamps are removed, flip the board over and you will be able to gently lift up and remove the two heat sinks.
2.3 Remove four fixing bolts from each of the heat sinks.
2.4 Clean any residue of the thermal compound from the heat sinks and the top of processors.
2.5 Use alcohol with a cloth to bring the underside of each heat sink up to scratch.
2.6 Use alcohol to remove the residue on the processors.
2.7 Apply termal compound to either the top of the processor and the heat sinks.
2.8 Re-fix the heat sinks.
2.9 Close by the cover.
