Once upon a time would be an easy way to begin telling the story of Flame Gurl. That is, if she was a fairy tale.
There are no dwarves or gingerbread houses covered with candy in her story. Only frying pans and door hinge squeezed oranges. Although, dwarves and gingerbread houses may make their way into her story somehow...who knows???
Flame Gurl meets up with some pretty unusual characters along the way including Teeny of the Famous Teeny's Diner, Canadaville's resident superhero Frying Pan Gurl, and Super Villain Blu Jacket. And let's not forget about the mysterious dark-haired man!
So come meet Flame Gurl in the series that is full of twists and turns, with the Canadian sense of humour thrown in for fun. But be warned, you're in for a Flametastic adventure of a lifetime!

"I'll make marmalade out of you, Col. Clementine!" the watermelon screamed."Not a chance, Retaw!" Col. Clementine yelled back.
"Then I'll give you the seed treatment!" Retaw threatened. All of the Oranges laughed.
"Are you joking? You have to be joking right?" Yellow Leader asked.
"Oh, don't provoke him," Teeny said trembling. "He might just do what he says. You really don't want the seed treatment."
The watermelon narrowed his eyes at Teeny. The diner owner coward behind the main kitchen preparation table.
Lieutenant Retaw had been captured by The Galactic Orange Brigade and was now getting a good talking to by his captors. They were holding him in the kitchen of Teeny's Diner while Flame Gurl, Frying Pan Gurl, Blu Jacket, and Teeny looked on. They were amazed that their before them were talking fruit having an argument with each other.
"Oh, dear," Teeny said. He was shaking. "The world has gone mad. But at least the watermelon won't hurt me any more, I hope. As long as he isn't provoked."
"There, there, Teeny. It will be alright." Frying Pan Gurl was trying to reassure the diner owner.
"Of course it will be alright," Flame Gurl said confidently. "Col. Clementine is on the job."
Blu Jacket looked at Flame Gurl in disbelief. "Do you know what you're saying? Mutant oranges rained down on us. Do you really trust them? 'Cause I don't." The brunette woman eyed the oranges around the room.
"Are you kidding me, Blu Jacket?" Flame Gurl said. "They captured that watermelon. Now he can't continue on with his evil plan. He was forcing Teeny to squish oranges. Can you imagine squishing oranges day and night? That explains why Teeny is the way he is. At least in part. Anyway, you know what I'm saying?"
Blu Jacket nodded her head in agreement with what her arch enemy had just said.
"What I don't understand is why I didn't know about this?" Frying Pan Gurl wanted to know.
This time, Col. Clementine spoke to the humans. "The melons only allowed you to see what they wanted you to see."
"Oh." Frying Pan Gurl said flatly.
Flame Gurl perked up. "In that case," she began. "Can I Flameatize the melon?! We see what's going on now!" She raised her right hand.
"Yah!" Frying Pan Gurl shouted and raised her frying pan. "That watermelon is melon spatter."
"No!" shouted Clementine. "Do you know how big a mess that would make? Besides, I'm still not sure what Flameatize means."

Welcome to Canadaville
Breese Jarvis is splashed by muddy water splashed on her by a taxi cab. She is now soaking wet. She sits down and takes off her shoe to tip the water out of it. Breese soon discovers that the water is "pouring" out rather than just dribbling out. This would not happen in the rest of the world...or would it???
A Gurl and Her Frying Pan
Flame Gurl and Frying Pan Gurl enter an abandoned warehouse where everything seems a little too quiet. Suddenly, a tumbleweed rolls by. Could this happen elseware? Only if it were in Canadaville.
A Blu Jacket of a Different Colour
Well, the fact that Blu Jacket is turning magenta is odd in itself. However, the fact that there are power surges all over the city of Canadaville and the radios are still working when everything else electronic is going bonkers is also very strange. Only in Canadaville.
It's Not Easy Being Green
Subtitles appear under the Green Yellow-eyed Monster to help with roar translations. Of course one roar could mean one word or it could mean several paragraphs. This perhaps you could get away with in other places besides Canadaville.
The Oranges Strike Back
This is one of those books that could pretty much only exist in Canadaville. Talking and flying watermelons. Chopstick wielding oranges. An epic battle to end all epic battles. Need we say more???
Keep your eyes open throughout the books for more things that can only be explained in Canadaville. From the outragous to the obvious.
