From Flared Jeans to Skinny Jeans
If you have a pair of skinny jeans already, you'll need those for the pair you'll be creating. If not, then I'll tell you how to make them without a pair of skinny jeans already.
Supplies
(if you're doing it by hand)
- flared jeans
- skinny jeans (optional)
- pins
- thead
- needle
- scissors
- washable marker
if you have a sewing machine you won't have to do it by hand!

Make Your Outline
lay your flared jeans out flat on the floor and place the skinny jeans on top of them. Make sure one end is completely connected to the other end. (I'll edit this again when I have pictures to show) Once aligned take your washable marker trace the skinny pair of jeans and draw a line on the flared ones. Repeat on the other leg.
If you don't have a prior pair of skinny jeans...
This may be a little complicated and I'll try my best to describe it. You're going to have to put the pair of jeans on and sit on the floor. Make sure your legs are straight and hold the flared part of the leg out. You'll need your washable marker again and while holding your leg out trace your pants into your leg shape or how skinny you want to make it. You won't want to trace your exact leg because you'll want a little room for it after you've sewn it.

Pin 'Em Down!
STEP THREE
Get to Work
Now you start sewing your pants! You can use a sewing machine if you want, I'm sure it's a lot faster, but I unfortunately don't have one :( and I don't know how to set one up. I plan on saving up and buying one though so when that day comes I'll have a sewing machine tutorial and I'll update it on here too!
Get your needle and thread together. Make sure that the thread is longer than your pant leg by at least 6 inches! You don't want to not have enough thread and then have to start over, do you?! Well you don't necessarily HAVE to start over.. You can tie up the thread and start a new piece, but I find it easier to do it all at once.
Once you have your needle and thread together make sure you knot them together so that it won't just be going straight through your pants. You need to be able to keep it together.
Start from the top of your jeans and just follow your line. It's tedious, I know, but it'll be worth it when you have a new pair of jeans... that aren't really new!

- Great intro to sewing :) But of course if the thread is not long enough, you don't have to start over. You should tie up the thread and go on with a next thead.
