- I also love Flashman, but I can heartily recommend Fraser's wonderful army meoirs The General Danced at Dawn and Macauslan in the Rough; and his utterly wonderful buccaneering fantasy, The Pyrates.

- The Flashman books are great fun. Any one interested in history and great story telling who hasn't read them should pick them up.

- George Macdonald Fraser wrote a key book called The Steel Bonnets about The Border Reiver clans of England and Scotland. (My family have Reiver geneaology) So if your readers are Armstrongs, Grahams, Dixons and loads more the author of Flashman wrote about them too.

- I must admit that I was totally unaware of the Flashman Papers -- I'm sure my hubby would like to read these.

- I can still remember seeing the film version of "Tom Brown's Schooldays" way, way back. The roasting scene disturbed me. Flashman is an utter cad, but interesting. Thanks to your lens I might just read a Flashman book or two. 5 stars.

- I enjoy the diversity of your lenses (in addition to your ponderings on SquidU!) and particularly like the layout and visuals of this one. Thank you for your comments about my new job.
