This lens is about flooding. More specifically, the flooding in Carlisle that swamped my home (and many others with it) in January 2005.

What's this all about?

On January 8th 2005, we awoke to water, everywhere. What started as a few inches when we first went downstairs, became six feet within about an hour.

I've used this lens to link to all of my blog posts on the flooding, and I'll be updating this if anything else comes up.

As I write this now, it's the 9th December. Just over 11 months have passed, and we're still living in temporary accomodation. Hopefully we'll be back in our home in the New Year, but we don't have a firm date yet.

Any Pictures?

Our local newspaper covered the flooding very thoroughly, so the best source for information and pictures would be their website.

Here's a link to the index of their flood pictures, and to the index of their reader's flood pictures. And here's a particular favorite of mine (someone snapped my wife being rescued, if you look closely you might be able to see me holding onto her, but probably not).
