Fly to Miami and rent a car
One way to get to the Florida Keys is to fly to Miami Int'l Airport and drive the rest of the way. The drive to Key West is about four hours, depending on the time of day and traffic conditions. But it's a leisurely drive and you can find some cool stops on the way. Don't be in a hurry - it the Keys!

You can also flight straight into Key West. It's probably going to add a layover to your flight as not many airlines fly directly into Key West. But it may be worth it to just get there as quick as you can. Just a 10 minute cab ride and you're down on Duval St.

- I used to live in the Boca Raton/West Palm Beach area, and, one day, after living there for a couple of years, I decided to just jump in my car and head south. Without a plan, I ended up at Key West. It was a quick trip that time, because I had to be back for work the next morning, but I ended up going to the Keys quite a few times after that, before I moved to Arizona. I always enjoyed it down there. Much quieter (at least, when I was there) and slower-paced than where I lived to the north. Beautiful.

- Florida Rocks, and I so plan on visiting the Keys one day. I've already been to the Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater area 3 times! I want to move there one day, too.

- Hi!! Just come to see your nice lens. I did my travel lens too. It's about my hotel in hua hin Thailand. Hua Hin is a charming town of clean white sandy beach. If you come to Thailand, please visit us.
