Florida is a fantastic place to vacation too. The beaches are so beautiful, the sand is white and the water is clear. There is a ton to do, everything from water attractions to busy nightlife.

What are Florida vacation rentals? How is this different then getting a hotel room?

Florida vacation home rentals are sometimes confused with time shares, but they are not the same thing. You see a time share is an actual piece of real estate that the buyer then owns. A Florida vacation home rental is simply when someone is renting out their home or apartment to someone on vacation in Florida.

Sometimes you can actually get a much cheaper rate for a Florida vacation rental home then you would at a comparable hotel! Hotels incur the additional expensives of large-scale marketing, advertising, and so forth that a vacation rental does not have. A vacation rental can be as easy as someone owning a second home and wishing to earn some extra money off of it when they are not living there.

I do want to caution you however, when you go to a popular hotel, you know what you are getting. It is a chain and has an established track record. Vacation home rentals in Florida can be a mixed bag sometimes. You could end up in one that is not in very good shape.

It is highly recommended that you do not jump into the very first rental you see. It is extremely helpful to speak with people who have rented before, especially in the area you are considering traveling. I would also suggest checking the internet for reviews as well. If done right, a florida vacation rental can save you lots and lots of money. Besides, it sure would be nice to spend that next vacation in a home rather then a cramped hotel!
