Egrets! Spoonbills!  Flamingos!

Don't miss some of the most approchable birding anywhere. Visit the great parks like Ding Darling (Sanibel) and Corkscrew (Naples). Links to web sites are found below.

The Curious Wren - Your Birding Guide

Let the Curious Wren be your guide to birding.

She has a whole series of lenses about birding, bird feeders, field guides, bird books, gifts and equipment.

Some lenses are "How To" lenses.

One part of her series is state-by-state birding guides -- Arizona, California and more!

Go to the Curious Wren hub for links to all her lenses.

National Geographic Article
Researchers claim to have had many sightings (but no audio, video or still photos yet) of ivory-bills in the FL panhandle. Read all about it here!

See the Endangered Species Before They're Gone

Florida Scrub Jay (at right) -- a sub-species of scrub jay.

I have seen them (and photographed them) just off the highway near Jupiter. Find out more here .

Wood Stork -- A large, prehistoric-looking bird. Its black and white wing pattern is distinctive. Read about it at this website.

I have seen them in the ditches along the freeway near Miami, and soaring overhead with the vultures.

Snail Kite (aka Everglade Snail Kite) -- this raptor is only where its exclusive food source (the apple snail) is found - central and south FL. Read about it here.

I have seen them just west of West Palm Beach, just off the highway.
