- When I was a kid we used to go flounder gigging in the mouth of the Colorado River on the Gulf of Mexico. Walking in shallow water at night while holding a lantern. It was a lot of fun. Flounder are delicious!

- Fishing for flounder is great in general. They give a good fight but the best way to get flounder is gigging. Where I live on the Cape Fear River in North Carolina it is the most popular way to catch them.

- There's almost nothing better than freshly caught and fried flounder. My family used to go out on a charter boat out of Freeport NY once a year when I was young. Too crowded, but we always brought back a bunch of fish! Thank you for this page.

- I grew up on Long Island and loved flounder fishing. I've been in Missouri and central Texas now for thirty five years, and miss fresh flounder dramatically. Thanks for the lens.
