How to Apply a Wall Decal

Applying Your Wall Decal

Applying a decal is super easy. The trick is getting it in the perfect spot first so you don't have to move it. Here are a few simple steps:

1. Clean the wall and dry thoroughly.

2. Be sure the image is stuck to the backing paper by rubbing over it with a smoothing tool on a flat surface.

3. Place the decal on the wall.

Tip: Before removing the backing, tape your decal onto your surface to make sure you like the positioning.

4. Tape one edge of the backing paper to the wall. At an angle, slowly peel away the backing paper revealing the sticky side of the decal. After the backing paper is removed, slowly place the decal onto the wall starting from the taped edge. Smooth it on slowly and work out any air bubbles with a smoothing tool.

Tip: If you do have remaining bubbles, poke them with a needle and work out the air by pushing it to the center of the hole; then smooth over.

5. Starting at one corner, gently peel away the clear protective layer. If any part of your decal remains attached to the protective layer, roll it back, re-press the image onto the surface, and continue peeling it away. Go slow.

6. You're done! Stand back and admire your hard work.

When you are ready to remove your decal, just slowly pull it away from the wall. You can help loosen the adhesive glue by using a blowdryer on a low heat setting. There should be no damage to the walls so these are perfect for apartment dwellers!
