Ease Your Emotions With Flower Essences

Flower Essences are infusions of natural flowers diluted with water and are very helpful in dealing with negative emotional states. Flower Essence Remedies are approved by and regulated by the FDA as over-the-counter drugs (they are NOT herbs or supplements). Governments and medical practioners around the world recognize the safety and effectiveness of these essences. They have been used successfully for over 50 years for issues such as stress, depression, fatigue, trauma, sleeplessness, and more.

What are flower essences?

Dr. Edward Bach was a medical doctor and trained homeopath who researched and developed his set of essences in the 1930's. The remedies are made from floral infusions preserved in alcohol (tinctures). The essences are used to alleviate emotional states which can harm your health and have a negative effect on your ability to live life to your fullest potential.

They are not used to treat mental or physical disease, rather act as an emotional "band aid" or assist you in delveloping positive emotional characteristics. The flower essences have an impact on our emotional vitality. They are taken as a few drops under the tongue as needed or a few times each day.

Many people use the popular "Rescue Remedy" for stressful situations for themselves, their children, and their pets with great success - but did you know that their are hundreds of different flower essences out there? Dr. Bach himself developed 38 unique essences and Rescue Remedy only contains 5 of them!

There are countless websites out there to assist you in finding the best remedies for you. Several wonderful books specific to adults, children, and animals have been written. The problem is, it can be expensive to build up your own personal supply of individual essences. What if you want to try them out, but don't want to make that kind of investment? For beginners, it's best to find a practitioner to assist you in finding the right remedies for you and prepare a specific blend catered to your specific needs. If you already know which remedies resonate with you, a practioner can also "take your order" and provide the blend you desire without you needing to invest a lot of money in building up your own supply.

The many uses of Flower Essence Remedies

How can they help you today?

Some examples (taken from www.theonlinehomeopath.com)

-You're driving in traffic with a crying baby and you're low on gas. AHHHHHH stress!

-Your dog is afraid of thunderstorms.

-Stress from school or work is wearing you down.

-You're afraid that you'll be too nervous at your wedding to enjoy the day.

-Your son is too shy to make friends.

Flower essence remedies are safe, gentle, and effective for the temporary effects of stress and emotional difficulties. They are safe for people taking prescription medications and herbs, safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women, for children, and for our pets.

Bach Flower essences are regulated in the United States by the Food and Drug Association (The FDA) as Over-The-Counter Drugs. They are neither herbs nor dietary supplements. All bottles produced by Nelson/Bach USA carry a NDC (National Drug Control) number.

About Me

The_Homeopath

I am a graduate of the The Homeopathy School of Colorado and hold the designation of CHom (Classical Homeopath). While at the school, I had the privelege of training under homeopaths Alastair Gray, DSH, PCH, Judith Reichenberg-Ullman, ND, DHANP, MSW and Robert Ullman, ND, DHANP, and Kim Elia. I also participated as a supervisor in the published proving of Aquilegia vulgaris - the common Columbine.
I have been providing online consultations for 2 years in addition to my regular in-office practice.

I've used Flower Essence Remedies personally and with my children, my pets, and other family members for the past 8 years and with my homeopathic clients for 4 years. I have been heavily influenced Ian Watson's work with using flower essences in tandem with homeopathy

I have received training in Flower Essence Therapy, Western Herbal Medicine, Reflexology, Health Counseling, Holistic Counseling, Nutritional Counseling, Reiki and Crystal Healing, and Eastern Meditation for health issues.

My philosophy is to offer the BEST care available to each client in a complementary way. I believe that everyone should be educated about all available options regarding their health and well-being and to have access to the best of all systems, whether they be traditional or modern, allopathic or holistic. Integrative medicine benefits everyone.

Living on the beautiful plains of eastern Colorado, I share my life with my husband of 14 years, our 4 children, our horses, cats, goats, a dog, and a ferret.

How Safe Are The Flower Essences?

Because of their long use in the United States, the U.S. Congress passed a law in 1938 declaring that homeopathic remedies are to be regulated by the FDA in the same manner as nonprescription, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, which means that they can be purchased without a physician's prescription. Bach Flower Essences are classified by the FDA as Homeopathic Remedies.

Remedies are required to meet certain legal standards for strength, quality, purity, and packaging. In 1988, the FDA required that all homeopathic remedies list the indications for their use (i.e., the medical problems to be treated) on the label. The FDA also requires the label to list ingredients, dilutions, and instructions for safe use.

The guidelines for homeopathic remedies are found in an official guide, the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States, which is authored by a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization of industry representatives and homeopathic experts. The Pharmacopoeia also includes provisions for testing new remedies and verifying their clinical effectiveness. Remedies on the market before 1962 have been accepted into the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States based on historical use, rather than scientific evidence from clinical trials.

SIDE EFFECTS AND WARNINGS:

The FDA has learned of a few reports of illness associated with the use of homeopathic remedies. However, the FDA reviewed these reports and decided that the remedies were not likely to be the cause, because of the high dilutions.

Here is some general information that has been reported about risks and side effects in homeopathy:

-Homeopathic medicines in high dilutions, taken under the supervision of trained professionals, are considered safe and unlikely to cause severe adverse reactions.

-Flower Essence remedies and some liquid homeopathic remedies can contain alcohol and are permitted to have higher levels of alcohol than conventional drugs for adults. This may be of concern to some consumers. However, no adverse effects from the alcohol levels have been reported either to the FDA or in the scientific literature.

-Homeopathic remedies are not known to interfere with conventional drugs; however, if you are considering using homeopathic remedies, you should discuss this with your health care provider. If you have more than one provider, discuss it with each one.

-Keep all remedies out of the reach of children.

-Consult a health care provider before using the product if the user is a woman who is pregnant or nursing a baby.

-The Flower Essence remedies are NOT a replacement for regular medical or homeopathic care. Please consult the appropriate professional for serious conditions.
