The phrase "Flower Power" may conjure up images in your head of the 60's and big bright daisies painted on VW's. However, I was thinking of a more generalized idea of flowers and how inspiring they are.
I love, love, love flowers! I love getting them, growing them, drawing them, painting them, and dreaming about them! Here are some items, quotes and links to give you some "Flower Power" today! Enjoy!!

Flower of the month
It's around this time of year when purple irises start appearing in the grocery store floral areas. I always think to myself that they are too early, but I still enjoy seeing them. I have always been a lover of these flowers, especially the purple ones. The bearded Irises are so beautiful and showy and fun to look at and grow. But, I can't help but love the simplicity of the smaller, simpler ones.
Last week my husband and I stayed at a bed & breakfast in La Connor called the "Wild Iris." There were so many photos and paintings of irises there. It inspired me to make it the flower of the month for January. Enjoy!
Wikipedia's Irises...
:Other plants named "iris" are found elsewhere in the Iridaceae.
Iris is a genus of between 200?300 species of flowering plants with showy flowers. It takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, referring to the wide variety of flower colors found among the many species. As well as being the scientific name, iris is also very widely used as a common name; for one thing, it refers to all Iris species, though some plants called thus belong to other closely related genera. In North America, a common name for irises is flags, while the plants of the subgenus Scorpiris are widely known as junos, particularly in horticulture. It is a popular garden flower in the United States.
The genera Belamcanda (blackberry lily), Hermodactylus (snake's head iris), Neomarica (walking iris) and Pardanthopsis are sometimes included in Iris.
