The Many Different Kinds Of Flowers For Shade

Shade Flowers

It's that time of year to plan your flower garden...and tackle the problem of finding flowers for shade! Shade flowers don't always have to be green in color. On this page I've found colorful flowers to brighten up the shady areas in your flowerbeds or around your home.

Flowers for shade are often more intense in color, usually bloom longer, and have fewer insects and weeds. Shade gardens create a sense of peace and relaxation, and are great areas to retreat to or entertain in during the hot summer.

Shade flowers planted under trees will need extra water and fertilizer because the tree's roots will be competing with the flower's roots, but during the winter the tree will provide a natural mulch for the flower.
