Say hello to the group in the coop!
My girls,(the chicks) are just great. They EAT bugs, love life and become very docile with daily handling.
They like each other if they aren't crowded, eat leftovers, recognize the hand that feeds them, and will gladly remove fleas form your dog if he'll lay still.
Why a chicken?
A chicken in every yard, not pot!
Once the hens know you, they come running to you to see if you brought them a surprise. In a chickens' world this means something yummy to eat.
Besides a really good chicken feed and some cracked corn for candy, they love leftovers. No meat from your table, but all of the noodles and veggies that are left. Indeed, They would like the vegetable peelings as well.

Photos of my pets

A rooster and his harem.
A bird deserves company, not isolation like so many keep them.
Birds need others. No one like isolation.
They learn to trust people, pets, pretty much anything the owner has around if socialized as a baby. They are also in tune to the emotions around them. In a place where they are ignored, a bird suffers depression. Some birds, left alone in cage, without some friendly interaction every day for a couple of hours can develop serious mental heath issues.
They feather pick, scream, develop mannerisms like rocking, staring, some can even chew on them selves to the point of
self mutilation. These problems once developed are difficult to correct. Be kind. Love your birds. sit with them, play with them, give him or her a few hours of freedom every day. You will be amazed at how much fun You and your bird will have.
