Will The Fluidity Bar Really Make A "Firmer, Slimmer, Sexier You"?
Well, I'm gonna do my best to find out! After watching the Fluidity Bar infomercial (my husband hates it when I watch those things), I'm trying to convince my husband to cancel our YMCA membership and get me a Fluidity Bar for Christmas.
Will it live up to the promises on the infomercial to give me a dancer's body?
Check back often to see how the Fluidity Bar works for me...and while you're at it, go ahead and give me 5 STARS ***** if you think this site is worth it!
Why I Want A Fluidity Bar...(my husband made me tell him!)
- I'm an ex-dancer and I know that working with a bar gives you a good workout with long, lean muscles.
- Because you need an actual "bar" to do these exercises. They can't be done holding onto a chair (sheesh! Men...)
- We can drop the $75/mo YMCA membership and just use this, ie. SAVE MONEY. (he liked that one)
- It saves me time since I don't have to travel back and forth to the YMCA - I can do this in our den.
- It's low-impact. No jumping around and getting down on the floor and back up again.
- I love ballet!
- I don't want to work-out with heavy weights like a guy.
- I need to work out and have physical activity. Relieve stress from the kids too!
My 3 Biggest Hesitations About Getting A Fluidity Bar
My husband really makes me think about all of this stuff before we buy things so here goes...1. My biggest hesitation is not knowing if I'll actually like the workout until I try it.
2. Storage. I'll need to find a place in the den to store it so I can pull it out quickly and use it before my motivation to exercise fades.
When it's closed for storage, it measures
43"L x 33"W x 4"H. I don't think it'll fit under my couch, but maybe I can get it behind the couch!
3. The cost. It's $250 with shipping from their website, but I'm going to use EBay and get it cheaper.
WARNING: The Fluidity Bar is ~$250 brand new -- NOT $39.95!
If you just watched the infomercial, read this before you buy...
While the Fluidity Bar IS a great workout program, the infomercial advertising is pretty misleading in my opinion.Watch the last part of the infomercial below where they talk about the price. It seems like you can try the Fluidity Bar for 30 days for only $39.95 right? After the 30 days you assume that if you don't like it, you can return it for a refund or keep it and pay nothing else.
WRONG.
If you keep the Fluidity Bar after 30 days you're charged 4 additional monthly payments of $39.95!
When you add in the shipping and handling, your price ends up around $250.
In my opinion, it's worth $250, but they need to state the 4 extra payments clearly on the infomercial.
Also, when unsuspecting buyers have found out about the extra payments and tried to return it or get their money back, it's been a huge hassle.
My advice?? Buy your Fluidity Bar on eBay instead.
Not only will you get it cheaper, but you'll know exactly what you're getting yourself into before you buy.
Fluidity Bar Infomercial Misleading?
Watch how they tell you the price. There's never any mention of 4 additional monthly payments of $39.95 when you decide to keep the bar!
What Real People (Not Actresses) Say About The Fluidity Bar
While doing my research on the Fluidity Bar, I dug up these comments from other women about their experience (hope they don't mind me reposting them!)I tried to find positive and negative comments, but it was actually pretty hard to find the negative ones!

"I work out at home so I buy everything on infomercial and consider myself pretty knowledgeable. When I saw Fluidity it intrigued me and since I already do Pilates I thought this would be a good variation to what I do. The Fluidity Bar and DVD's came in the mail and I was totally impressed. The bar is beautiful. It is way better quality than what you expect. Then I did the workouts - amazing! I can honestly say I am addicted. Fluidity delivers big time. My body is changing rapidly and I am truly blown away!!! Fluidity is the real deal."

"I bought this machine last summer, I tried it for maybe three weeks, but them I lost the motivation. I have used the firm, Windsor Pilates, even Core Secrets and thought this would be something I can vary my workout with. I am sad to say that I have already sold mine on e-bay because it became a clothes hanger. Its a great machine, sturdy, and the workout are challenging but it not for everyone. if you're like me and get bored easily, this may not be the machine for you."

"As an advanced mat Pilates teacher, I was looking for something to spice up my workout. I was attracted to Fluidity because it resembled Pilates, while offering something completely different. Fluidity arrived very fast, and completely assembled. The bar is very sturdy and of high quality. Even though I am very advanced at mat Pilates, I found the beginner workout to be VERY challenging, and engaged muscles that Pilates does not. The instructions were clear and well demonstrated, and the video flowed at a great pace. I will be trying the intermediate level video tonight. This workout seems like it will compliment a regular cardio workout (I run) wonderfully. It's not fair to compare it to Pilates, as the two are completely different. I'm going to use both methods in my workouts, they seem like they will work together well to achieve a long, lean, and well-stretched body. I HIGHLY recommend FLUIDITY- it's well worth the money."

"I was really excited when I saw the Fluidity Infomercial. I had done the Bar Method before and really thought I had found something great. I think the quality of the bar is great, but the exercise videos not so great. I did the videos, 3x a week for about 3 weeks and didn't experience any results at all. I also found that the the bar kept sliding. I think if you over 5'7 (I'm 5'8) you can't really experience the benefits of the entire workout because many of the moves are designed for shorter people. I decided to send it back after the 30 days. I'm not saying that its not a good product, but maybe my body responds better to pilates. Would I recommend this to others? Well,if your on the fence and can't decide between Fluidity or Supreme Pilates, I would go for Supreme Pilates."

"I thought about purchasing Fluidity for months! Reading this review site lead me to Lotte Berk and the Bar Method DVDs. I bought them (much cheaper than Fluidity), AND I loved them. They were easy to stick with daily and WORKED!! I continued to really want the Fluidity Barre, so I caved and ordered. It is great. The DVDs and barre are worth the $$$, but I would encourage you to add the Lotte Berk and Bar Methods to your DVD workout collection. It will keep you working out with the barre. Absolutely LOVE Fluidity!"

Fluidity Bar: Is It A Good Buy?
The Verdict On The Fluidity Bar...
My husband didn't want to shell out the $ for a Fluidity Bar, so as a compromise I asked him to get me The Bar Method DVD's instead (they were sold out last time I checked...)
I LOVE the Bar Method! I've already seen my body change for the better, I don't need the heavy equipment, and my husband loves the price.
I would also highly recommend the Callanetics DVD's they've been highly recommended to me and supposedly The Bar Method is actually a copycat of Callanetics.

- I just got the steal of the century. I was in Goodwill yesterday looking for a walker for my mother. Slid between two yucky sofa's was this fitness thing a majig. I had never heard of Fluidity bars but I told my husband it looked sturdy and I could go on line and figure it out; if nothing else I could remove the mat and use it for floor exercises. He didn't even grumble (I have several infomercial contraptions that usually become clothes hangers). It cost $10.00; it was 50% off Saturday so it cost me $5.00 and it's like new.....how could he grumble. I was so excited I spent the whole night online researching my treasure find. I think I have seen the infomercials but never was interested because of the price. Christmas came early for me this year....I'm so excited!!! My husband is going to get me some DVD's off e-bay (they cost five times more than the bar!!!) I'm heading to the library to find some bar methods or callanetics Dvd's to get started with. I LOVE GOODWILL!!!!

- I purchased my Fluidity July 2007. I (normally) hate excerise, jogging, power-walk, going to the gym; however, I was excited to work on my Fluidity at least 3x a week, sometimes more. I was on the Metabolic Research for weight loss. Did these 2 programs work YES indeed. I noticed I could cross my legs in my lap, had more energy and trimed my thighs; looked more like 25 than 63! In December(2007) my mother of 85 died and I regret to say I lost interest in my physical appearance. It is now August 2009, I am 2 years older and smarter. I am starting my program all over. I know I will enjoy my journey as before. I just need to re-order the pink and blue bands! I bless you on your journey if you are just starting as well. You will not regret the investment if you follow the instructor, remain faithful to your program and eat well. GO FOR THE GOLD!

- Am purchasing an almost new second hand Fluidity Bar tomorrow and am quite excited. I too was a Callanetics fan years back but have a lot of dust on those videos now. - So you really believe this bar will be worth it if I stick with the workouts?
