Fluxx: Card Game for the Tactical

Ranked #123,532 in Entertainment, #1,316,860 overall

How to Play the Addicting Card Game

My sister gave us Fluxx for Christmas and it's now our favorite card game. It took us a few rounds to learn, but after that we understood the simple rules and fell in love.

The gameplay revolves around four different types of cards: Keepers, Goals, New Rules, and Actions. This lens will explain each type of card and how to play them!

The Cards: Keepers

Collect These

Keepers are green cards that you collect throughout the game. Having the correct combination of Keepers is what causes you to win the game.

The Cards: Goals

Achieve These

Goal cards are just that: the goal of the game. Most have two Keepers on them; once you have collected both the Keepers on the Goal card, you win!

But watch out, the goal can change at any time if someone plays a new Goal card from their hand!

The Cards: New Rules

Change the Rules with These

New rules change the way the game is played. At the beginning of the game everyone draws and plays one card on his or her turn. The gameplay gets more exciting and complicated as new rules are played.

The Cards: Actions

Do Special Things with These

Action cards cause the player to do special things like take an extra turn, draw extra cards, or discard someone else's keepers.

They are different from New Rule cards because they only apply to the person that played them.

Gameplay

The gameplay is pretty straightforward: on your turn you draw the amount of cards specified by the New Rule cards and play as many cards as per the New Rule cards.

The goal is to collect the keepers that are shown on the current Goal card. Simple to learn, this game is SO addicting. We can never play less than five rounds at a time!

My wife got this game for Christmas. One of her coworkers had been raving about it for months. It's a lot of fun and really easy to learn. It's great for just two people or in groups.

Back to my USA home after two years as a volunteer in Belgium and France, found a lovely wife and we're figuring out life together.
