Fly For Fun

Fly For Fun is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). Its main advertising line is 'Free For Life' which means it is completely free to play and you never have to pay a penny to play it. The game relies on an Item Mall to cover costs of running and developing the game where you can buy gpotatoes and with these you can buy unique items that you can use in the game to make your playing experience more enjoyable. It is up to the player whether they want items from the item mall or not as none of the items are a requirement to play the game.

The game is very cutesy and like most of the MMORPG out there very addictive to play. There are plenty of quests to do so that you don't have to constantly grind on mobs (like you do have to in some other games) and most of the quests give a nice experience reward.

Buy Flyff Penya?

If you have found this page because you want to buy Flyff Penya (Penya for those who don't know is the currency in Flyff) well all I can say is there is really no point.

If you really find that you are strapped for in-game cash you can buy items from the Flyff item mall and vend/sell them to other players. The best place to vend is Darkon, so if you are still a n00b (low level player) go to the magic seller and buy a Darkon Blinkwing and a Flaris Blinkwing (Blinkwings are Flyff's version of teleportation scrolls) and simply blink to Darkon, then blink back to Flaris when you have done selling.

Personally I would much rather increase my ingame cash flow this way for two main reasons (not that I need to):
  1. Buying from the item mall supports the game
  2. I ain't gonna support Penya sellers as they are bad for the game
I also believe that you shouldn't really have to buy Penya as it is not that hard to make cash in the game. OK, you won't be able to afford everything in the game straight away but that is the whole point in these games.

Power Leveling

aka plvl

Once you break into the level 20s you will start getting a lot of people flying up to you and asking the the question "plvl?". This means they want you to power level them. This is good for both players once you understand how to power level properly. If you are new to the game and you attempt to give power level you will loose out. So let me explain how to power level properly.

To party with each other your level difference should be upto 19 levels apart. If one is fighting and the other is leeching the larger the level difference the better for the leech, for the fighter it makes no difference if they are only 1 level higher than the leech or if they are 19 levels higher.

Partying

To understand powerleveling properly first you must understand the art of partying.

When you party the more you kill when two or more of the party members are in the same vacinity the party gains experience and levels. When you first start a new party the default experience share of the party is set by level and this cannot be changed until you have an advanced party, this experience mode is not bad if you and your leveling partner(s) are all fighting but it is terrible for a fighter leech combo as it shares the experience by level and the fighter will get worse experience than solo whilst the leech will get phoneminal experience.

Once the party gets to level 10 you can change the party to an advanced party and give the party a name (why you have to give the party a name baffles me though) and then you can change the level share to contribution. Once the experience has been changed to contribution the powerleveling starts. If you are in a party of two the figher will get same experience as solo and the leecher will get experience depending on how large the level gap of the partnership. The experience for the leecher will be better than he/she leveling on their own.

To get the best results for powerleveling though is if the party is full of partnered pairs leveling in different areas. The more people in the party the better the experience for party members who are leveling together (if you are in a party and you are soloing you gain absolutely no benefit of the party). The experience you gain in a contribution party increases when more people are in the party up to a maximum of eight players whereby you will be getting 2x experience.

So next time someone asks you for plvl find an advanced party to join as the leech is helping you as much as you are helping the leech.

The only downside of powerleveling as a leech is that you will be poor as the fighter gets all the drops.
