Flyff vs World of Warcraft
The battle of the MMORPGs
We are now in the age of the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game). But which is the best? There are now hundreds to choose from, some free, some P2P (pay to play).
For obvious reasons I prefer the free to play ones as I have the choice whether I want to pay real life cash and buy things out of the item mall to either vend in the game to make more ingame cash or to simply enhance my gaming pleasure. Whereas games that you have to pay to play are more corrupt with people buying in game cash from sites that are not affiliated with the games host. OK, some of that does happen in the free to play games but nowhere near as much as in the P2P games. I have even seen games that have both item malls and are P2P.
One of the biggest free to play games is Flyff and the biggest P2P games is WOW. So lets use this lens to rip them apart or just to say why you like the game you play.

Please note: I have noticed a lot of people say WOW is better because you can play it for free on a Private Server. OK! But ... for one, it is illegal and for two that would put you on the side of the free to play games. So think before you reply!

My only conclusion is that FlyFF is better. Not in any particular sections (wow beats in graphics and story for example) but overall more enjoyable. Most of the players I know here are friendly. Flyff is more unique compared to all the other games out there, including the graphics. It's also free. In the end I prefer flyff even thought WoW beats it in many categories.

Bubbles said that the flyff communtity is a bunch of a holes. I have played and i disagree. I have found that over 90% of the people will do things for you. And it seems to me that p lvling is kinda cheap.
kevin said that there hasn't been a pk server since ver9. I assume that he either means that ver9 is when they came with it or he thinks they still don't have it. If it's the second one then he's wrong. There is now a whole server dedicated to PvP.
Cerota said that the combat system is messed up. It seems to me that they both follow this pattern. You attack or get attacked then use spells, items, run, or whatever else they let you do.
kevin also said that assists are full STA. Well sorry to disappoint you but assists work fine without full STA. They also have the strongest outright attack skill. Additionally all classes have their own personal buffs.
SinZombie said that WoW has a story. The big reason behind it is because before there was WoW there was one of my favorite games. Warcraft. And Blizzard is a great company. They are also working on Starcraft 2.
flyff does have flaws. The graphics could be better, lvling could be easier, and the rare items could be a bit less rare but i would say that it is a pretty good f2p game.

If you are wondering why my WoW list is so short it's because it was simply made to disprove some outrageous complains on flyff. WoW is great because it is p2p. That is an incentive to make more stuff. I think it is in many ways better than flyff.
Now you probably have a question. If I think it is better than flyff why did I choose flyff over WoW? Two reasons. I can't pay and I don't meet the requirements. You say it's cheap but some people can't afford it end of story. The only thing I can't stand about some p2p people is how they just tell people to buy the game and play. AND I WILL NOT GO ILLEGAL. My computer itself doesn't meet the requirements. So what I just go and buy a new one? I know what your thinking. "He's retarded. He probably checked only the first thing. He only needs to buy graphics card or something." You're wrong. Save for the hardrive space, I need a new everything. Do you know how much that costs? I don't have the time to change anything in my computer as it is.
Now that was off topic. What I'm truly trying to say is that WoW is a great game and all but not everyone can play it. Those who can't prefer games like flyff. The only thing I don't want to hear anyone hear to say is that you should just buy the game. Not everyone in this economy can!

Bloody sets for 2b.. Everything comes out of the CS, Ziji and ChannelZero (GM's) both left WITHIN 24 hours, gala-net has 3 people working for flyff now, they dont even have a community manager, no event guy and I can keep going another 2 hours.
I've played WoW recently and its just 10x better then FlyFF. 100%.
The people who choose for FlyFF are clearly have not played the game for more then 3 months or have spend so much money on gPots that they "can't" quit.
Seriously.. Gala-net is milking eFlyFF out now that its still alive. Besides, they got another couple of games like TR and Rappelz (altho none plays that either..)
Give it another 6-12 months and FlyFF is shut down. Costs more money to run it then to keep it.

I've played Flyff and invested a lot of time and money into this game. In the end I realized it wasn't fun at all. There simply isn't any content, lore and they really need to balance the classes. I don't even know why they bother to add content in each version update while they still have tons of bugs to fix. One for example is the bugs in Guild Siege which could make or break you that week.
World of Warcraft changed me. Yes it too is a grind game but they make it very subtle through quests and don't have you at one location for hours whacking the same monsters for insignificant amounts of experience. It also doesn't take long for you to hit the level cap. It took me about a year to finally get into reach of master where it only took about a month to hit 80.
I understand if you can't pay for mmorpgs or if your computer can't run WoW. But my comment is aimed mainly at the Cash Shop junkies who invest hundreds if not thousands of dollars into this game. I can certainly say Flyff caused me to spend more money in a month then WoW can in a year.
If you have the option of going over to a quality game such as WoW, Warhammer or FFXI I certainly suggest you do. If you dont want to pay and you dont buy gpots then Flyff is a fine game.

But when I played the 10 day free trial of WoW everything changed about how I though about flyff. It is repetitive level, buy, sell, get items and so on in WoW there is an endless amount on what you can do a lot more dungeons there is no hacks the community is a lot more friendly the graphics of flyff to WoW are uncomparable WoW is so much more lively and it looks like your in the game.

You just do the same thing over and over and over again. Then I got introduced to WoW and basically fell in love with it. World of warcraft is better in all aspects because leveling is easier, there is endgame content, and you raid with a bunch of people who have no lives such as yourself. It is estimated that you need at least $1000 worth of cash shop item's to play competitively in their lackluster PvP events such as guild siege (where only 8 or so players from your guild of 50 or so actually only get to participate and thus siege in it's title is an exaggeration). Also there hasn't been a PK system in Flyff since v9. They are currently in v12.
So it takes at least one thousand dollars to play competitively in Flyff. In WoW you only need to invest the time to level and only about $120 a year to compete in PvP. Surely a fraction of the cost along with quality service.
Flyff is nice if you aren't interested in competing in pvp and only like to grind mindlessly. I also dunno where the author of this post got the information that P2P games are more prone to have their players buy gold from non affiliated sites. It's not like gold is hard to acquire in WoW as opposed to Flyff. If you wanna see facts log into both games and see which one has the dreaded penya/gold spammers.
But as I was saying if you like whacking mobs for countless hours and don't care about PvP then yes Flyff is a wonderful game no pun intended. Just don't complain because the in game cash shop prices are so high because they are controlled by the CS users. Not to mention making money in Flyff is ridiculous so they're actually trying to force you to use the CS.
You may wonder who the hack I am but I've played Flyff since v7. I had the potential to be one of the greatest F2P games out there. The devs and Gala completely ruined that by following the basic model of how F2P treat their player base - as a bank account. I regret spending money and wasting 2 years of my time on that game. I've only played WoW for less then a month now and accomplished more in this game then I ever did in Flyff.
Also on another note I enjoy playing the healer class. I was a ringmaster in Flyff and we all know they can't PvP to save their lives. All they are is a STA whore and holy cross slave to others. Whereas I'm a holy paladin and I can solo level and actually PvP quite well. Don't get me started on how fail Flyff's party system works either. It is a complete mockery of the idea of a party of players. It should just be named the filler system.

$40 for 2 months, $20 a month. LOADS of content.
As long as we keep paying, the game will have enough funds to live on and thus we'll have never ending content.
I've played flyff and it is nothing but a hardcore grinding game. Once you've lvled up and become top player in your cluster. That's it. Go and play some "pvp" in a small ring.
Then you wait for the next update which only gives the flyff world another boring dungeon and boss. Within a day, that dungeon gets old and you've finished the new content that they've delivered.
World of Warcraft is excellent but you have to play it to see for yourself. It really is worth it. Aside from the Questing and PvPing, you can partake in faction raids. It'll never be over and that's the great thing about the game. It'll probably never end which means and endless stream of content in a vast online world with millions of people.
And as the title states, all you really get from the game is the thrill of flying..on a broom or board.
World of Warcraft. Zeppelins. Travel Bats. Mounts.
Also, to keep the activeness of players, there are daily quests that we can take up.
Not kidding. There's a 10 day free trial. Try it and play it and then give a biased opinion.
(Yep, I've played Flyff before. Gets old within months. Grinding mmos aren't my kind of thing).

Flyff was a wonderful game before the introduction of version 9 where it became fairly obvious that CS was required if you really seriously wanted to PvP in this game. Not to mention the quests in Flyff are pathetic when compared to WoW. Before they add content they should be fixing the bugs and the what nots that the player base have been complaining about such poor localization. If you don't believe me look at Flyff's official website and each news article usually 95% of the time promotes the sale of a CS item. This game is also 100% grind and very tedious.
With Flyff and most P2P games I feel cheated out of the 1.5 years of my time and life. I'm glad I made the jump to WoW

I agree with the other WOW comments because all you do in Flyff is just killing mobs, on and on and on. Nothing is new. WOW it's actually easier to do quest to level instead of hacking away like some robot. Most of the Flyff quests are worthless as most of them don't give you anything worthwhle.
And buying the money in Flyff is alot easier than earning it. Farming the money sucks also since selling the drops are an easier way to get money. Plus the Flyff version of the WOW auction is crappy as you have to stay at the same place for a LONG time to actually sell the stuff. But in the auction you could have it in there for seperate times though you can't make the time yourself. The auction you can actually find the things you want as in Flyff you will have to find the correct shop, which you may never find unless you look for hours, but the auction take only about 5 minutes to find, buying them is a whole nother story.
Also the WOW world is mcuh bigger than the Flyff's. WOW has many choices to make while Flyff only has a few. WOW has race, talent, and a few other stuff. Flyff only has stat change and skill building.
In Flyff Assits are mostly the only buffers while WOW has tons of different buffs, all useful differently. Assists are like the only healers in the whole game which gives them a demand advantage over the over classes.
But yeah, I definetly like WOW better than Flyff though paying $360 a year is stupid.

As u reach higher levels, leveling would cause you to need to pay for CS items to gain a decent amount of exp a day. The above duel seems balanced more in the favour of P2P style games yet a lot that answer it knock the free games and then with the same breath say that they play an illegal free version of World of Warcraft. If that is the case then they are really on the side of FREE TO PLAY games. How can you possible stand up for a P2P (Pay to Play) game and then play a pirate version of it?

This game is, quite simply, the best Fantasy MMORPG I have ever encountered. Having played during the entire 11 day Stress Test, I can honestly say it will probably be around even longer than EverQuest. This work of art has all the magic of EQ, without the many frustrations that finally caused me to give up on EQ (such as extreme grind, a very punitive death penalty, and being forced to group at high levels).
The graphics in WoW are awesome. Some people complain about the "cartoonish" colors, etc. I find these graphics to be very pleasing to the eye, and extremely well detailed and arranged. Guess this just shows that it isn't possible to please everyone, particularly those who go out of their way to find a flaw in other people's creations. To me, it is just right.

ROSE Online
ROSE (Rush on Seven Episodes) Online is the only MMORPG I know that is both P2P and has an item mall (there may be more). I played this game till I maxed out and while waiting for them to update the game (still waiting six months later) I moved to Flyff. Most of these style games have the same problem though when you max out (reach maximum level) the updates take so long to come that you move to other games while waiting for the slow process of updating.-
