The Best Wimbledon Matches Ever. Great Tennis. Great Drama.

This was by far the best Tennis Match I have ever seen. Wimbledon was better than any Rocky Movie you can imagine. Back and forth went the score. Every game was a mini-drama in and of itself. The ex-champ Roger Federer was was not to win his attempt at winning 6 Wimbledon's in a row. Nadal had built up a quick two set lead (6-4, 6-4), and it looked like it was over for Federer. But this is where the drama really started. The lead in each game, and each game in the set, would change hands constantly. We had tie-breakers for each set that Federer would win (7-6, 7-6). Federer's serve aces, while he had a substantial lead in this area, would not be enough to win the match. While Nadal would turn out to be more nimble and agile than Federer, this would ultimately keep Nadal in the match, and finally win him the championship (final set - 9-7). During the volleys, Federer would have Nadal running across court, up to the net, to the back of the court etc, Nadal showed Federer and ultimately every tennis fan that he was more than capable of these feats. Nadal was able to sustain the 4 hours and 48 minutes of tennis that would finally win him the match and the Wimbledon Championship at 22 years of age. He has an incredible future ahead of him. He has finally beat his arch nemesis and future Wimbledons should be more exciting. I am waiting for the 2009 Wimbledon, you will find my predictions on who will win the 2009 Wimbledon Grand Slam Championship. It could be as exciting as 2008's Wimbledon!

Nadal a Spanish Hero

Rafael Nadal Parera was born June 3, 1986, in Manaco, Spain. Nadal has been ranked number 2 for 150+ consecutive weeks. He has had much better luck against Federer in the French open, which Nadal has won from 2005 to 2008. He has beaten Federer at the French Open in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Nadal has won the following Tournaments:
  • 4 French Open
  • 1 Wimbledon
  • 1 Australian Open
  • 1 US Open

Nadal has been the first Spaniard to win Wimbledon in 42 years.

Roger Federer is a Swiss National Hero

Roger Federer was born in 1981. He has been ranked number 1 for 232 consecutive weeks. He has won Wimbledon 5 years in a row, a record he shares with several other players. He was hoping to win his 6th straight Wimbledon, but Nadal had other plans. These two will be facing each other in the finals in several years to come. Federer has won 12 grand slam titles as follows:
  • 3 Australian Opens
  • 5 Wimbledons
  • 4 US Opens

Who is Better Nadal or Federer

I still think Federer is better, but Nadal will prove me wrong

While this is Nadal's first Wimbledon title, he should win a couple more. Federer's serve is still awesome, and he aced over 25, Nadal proved that agility can still beat power.

at the moment, Federer stand at more titles in all, and is overall better, but Nadal is starting to beat Federer on a lot of occasions so I think that as time progresses, Nadal will be better if he stop injuring himself.

Currently, I would have to put Federer as the better of the two, but it won't last much longer. Even though Federer has the best serve, tennis still requires agility. Nadal has beaten Federer at the French Open and Wimbledon this year

Nadal is catching up fast on Federer. He played so well in the wimbledon almost mistake free which mean not many unforced error. Federer did play well too but he didn't capitalize on the easy point he usually made. In high quality game just small mistake would cost a major blow especially confident wise and it showed with federer on that game. He showed some frustration when we rarely see him like that before. But anyway the rivalry will be getting better and better. So it is good for men's tennis.
