Should You Choose Folgers Coffee Pods?

There's no doubt that coffee pods are a legitimate product that's here to stay for a while when Folgers starts making them. If you know anything about coffee, you recognize the name Folgers, even if they're not exactly your favorite brand. Let's take a look at Folgers Coffee Pods and see how they compare to some of the more popular brands. We'll also see what other single cup solutions Folgers offers.

A Quick History Of Folgers

Folgers building in 1850Folgers is in no way new. You can't get any more American than a company founded in San Francisco way back in 1850. From the very beginning, the whole point was shipping out ground, roasted, and labeled tins of coffee, ready for the pot. It stands to reason that Folgers coffee would show up in coffee pods. Two other very American companies, Proctor and Gamble and The J M Smucker Company have owned Folgers at different times.

Will Folgers Work With My Pod Coffee Maker?

Bunn My Cafe Coffee Pod MakerFolgers coffee pods will, most likely, work with your coffee pod machine. According to the manufacturer, Folgers Pods work with the Home Cafe system. Although the name is trademarked by Bunn, the Home Cafe system basically stands for generic coffee pods. Be careful what you order, though. Some of the names that Folgers uses can be a bit confusing. For pods that will be compatible with pretty much all of the coffee pod machines out there, make sure you buy Folgers Pods, or that the Home Cafe name is on there somewhere.

Are There Other Single Cup Coffees By Folgers?

Folgers singles coffeeFolgers only makes one other type of single cup coffee, and they call them Folgers Singles. They aren't designed for use with coffee pod makers. Actually, they're really more like coffee bags than they are coffee pods, and definitely do not fit coffee pod machines. Folgers Singles are a pretty good idea for those who either can't afford or don't want a coffee pod brewer. There are currently no T-Discs or K-Cups made by Folgers and, as they've thrown their weight behind the Home Cafe brand, there likely won't be. Some people claim to have found a way to force this particular brand of coffee pods into working in the K-Cup, or Keurig machines, but I doubt Folgers would endorse that use.

Folgers Compared To Other Coffee Pods

Going by the reviews, Folgers Coffee Pods are probably some of the best around, even if they're definitely not the least expensive. It makes sense that their coffee pods would turn out pretty well Folgers had made a habit of making fairly strong coffee. Don't even consider Folgers if you're looking for espresso or cappuccino coffee pods as they only currently make decaffeinated or regular pods.
