Lipid Metabolism
The apple cider vinegar in the Cider Vinegar, Chromium and Selenium capsules supports the fat metabolism and as such affect the absorption of fats present in our food in the intestine. Because these fatty acids cannot be used to supply energy, the bodies own reserves of fat are used.
Apples contain various polyphenols, like proanthocyanidins and catechins, and these are especially present in apple varieties developed for cider production.ii These polyphenols in the cider are metabolised by humans.iii. Citric Acid Cycle
Cider Vinegar, Chromium and Selenium also contains vitamins of the B-group. Vitamin B1 and B2 play important roles in the energy supply chain in the body. Vitamin B6 takes care of the build-up and decomposition of proteins and so plays a role in our metabolism. Vitamin B12 is necessary for the creation of our red blood cells and has a positive effect on our nervous system. These vitamins induce certain coenzymes, which are important for the functioning of the citric acid cycle, and increase its speed of action. In the citric acid cycle substances are metabolised for the production of energy. A higher turnover therefore results in an increased usage, or metabolism, of body fat.
