My Japanese Food Life!

I live to eat in restaurants
Of all restaurants, why Japanese restaurants? I actually do not know. My mom told me that when I was in her womb, she always craved Japanese food. Perhaps her Japanese cravings in the past were transferred to me. How nice! I never got tired of Japanese restaurants (I'll discuss how my Japanese food journey started) and I always tried to seek out the best Japanese restaurants in the Philippines.
Scroll around, and you will find tons of information about the good food that I discovered in my food journey (as well as their addresses and phone numbers). Also, check my links below to visit local food blogs in the country!
First Food Love
My food exposure to Japanese cuisine
I love shrimp. Everytime we go to Japanese restaurants, we always order shrimp tempura (fried shrimp) and I always finish every piece of shrimp tempura in the table. Once, my parents asked if I will ever get tired of shrimp tempura, and I replied "NO WAY!"
In the Philippines? For restaurants that offer good unlimited tempura, visit Saisaki branches!

Second Food Love
My continuing restaurant experience
After getting acquainted with a lot of different restaurants, I got my first taste of one of the best foods that this cuisine had to offer. Raw stuff is the best, especially after I tried raw salmon. My restaurant experience was never the same after I ate salmon. Yum, salmon! As you can see, raw salmon is probably one of the yummiest things that I have tried in any Japanese restaurant offering sashimi. My parents used to say that I was too young to eat raw fish (and it might spoil my stomach) but once I got the right "age", my first salmon experience tasted like heaven. Silky and tender, salmon is definitely the best!
In the Philippines? visit Izakaya Kikufuji Japanese Restaurant for your salmon fix
Third Food Love
My love for food gets stronger and stronger
I just found myself food searching Japanese restaurants for ramen or noodles. Maybe I had ramen roots or what, but it became one of my favorite foods in restaurants. UUUUUUH, looking at the pictures makes me want to leave the house and search for new ramen houses in the metro.
Ramen is definitely one of the best meals that you can get from Japanese restaurants. I fell in love with ramen. I searched for famous ramen houses which offered authentic ramen in the Philippines. It was hard, because you would not really know if you have already tasted or eaten the BEST ramen or not. But, my food journey does not end here.

What restaurants do I go and eat to now?
After trying so many different restaurants around town, I fell in love with another Japanese raw food stuff. I still like salmon in most restaurants, but my new found love is raw urchins (uni sashimi). These babies are one of the best tasting, sea loving Japanese foods of all time.
My father also loved to eat urchins so I tried one when he was eating these slimy food stuff. Do not let looks deceive you! They might look yucky, but they taste super yummy! Most restaurants here in the metro do not serve 100% fresh urchins, but I once ate buffet style at a restaurant inside a 5-star hotel and what do I get? The yummiest urchin that I have ever eaten in my life. Soft, silky, and yummy :)
In the Philippines? visit Inagiku Japanese Restaurant in Shangri-La for the best raw urchin (uni sashimi) EVER

My future food adventures
I have yet to visit the best restaurants here in the Philippines. I stil believe that my food adventure has just begun.Do you have any suggestions for me? Pop me a name of a restaurant here in the Philippines and I WILL go and visit that place. I already targetted some of the best restaurants here in the metro but I am still saving up cash for the restaurants.
The list goes on and on. If you are a food lover, you will never get tired of visiting restaurants and finding the best restaurant that will satisfy your taste buds. Just don't forget to give me names of good restaurants that you have eaten in the past (so that I get to try them as well)

- Great lens, Matt! Had me drooling by the time I reached the end. I occasionally visit a Korean restuarant which also serves Japanese food which I've also sampled. I'm no expert, but I do love nori rolls.
