In this modern and hectic world, we are always on the run all of the time and simply eating things for convenience. Fast food and unhealthy snacks are so convenience that it has become part of our life as there are easy to scarf down and get on with the day.

We all understand that fast food and snacks are full of unhealthy sugars and calories, and they are also not good for your digestive system. In fact, most people having acid reflux treatment think that there is no need to control thier diet since they're having acid reflux treatment but for those who are sensitive to these unhealthy foods, eating these foods will cause them to have severe acid reflux or indigestion. Most acid relux sufferers have the misconception that they should only avoid fast food and spicy foods, however there are many foods that are on the list of "high risk foods for acid reflux" that you wouldn't even expect to see there.

In fact, many of these foods are considered healthy for a balanced diet. But, if you are suffer often from indigestion and acid reflux and sensitive to them, then these foods are not for you.

1. Fast Foods

French fries and greasy burgers can aggravate your acid reflux. In addition, fried chicken is not that suitable for you as well. When you do have to eat fast food, consider eating their grilled options.

2. Fruits & Vegetables

Amongst all the vegetables, potatoes and onions are basically the biggest culprits for acid reflux and heart burn. In fact, you should avoid both at all costs. Mashed potatoes seem as if they would be harmless, but they cause a lot of problems when eaten by those who often suffer. Fruits usually have high content of acid, be it tomatoes, oranges, lemons, grapefruits, and cranberries. These acid content can make your situation worse and should be avoided by anyone with digestive problems.

3. Dairy

Drinking milk when you have indigestion is indeed a bad idea. There are dairy products that can aggravate your indigestion and acid reflux. Sour cream and ice cream are two of the biggest problem foods in the dairy category. Cottage cheese is also can bring problems to your stomach.

4. Drinks

One thing you should stay away if you have acid reflux is alcohol. Liquor and wine are the worst forms you can drink. In addition, avoid coffee and tea if possible as both are also seen to be triggers for acid reflux.

5. Desserts

There are not too many desserts that aren't seen as being bad for acid reflux sufferers. Chocolate is one of them. As a matter of fact, chocolate cakes or brownies can be very harmful to your digestive system. In addition, anything with a high content of butter is not good for you as well.
