Chocolate
Cocoa is a no-no

Most humans find chocolate absolutely delectable, and frankly, so do dogs. But this food is a well-known poison for our furry friends. Why? Chocolate contains theobromine, which has a very similar effect as caffeine. Although it does not harm humans, dogs have a hard time metabolizing it and can get sick and die if they ingest too much. Chocolates such as baking chocolate have high amounts of theobromine.
Avocados
This is probably a surprise

Avocados are another deadly toxic food to give to your dogs. Although this may come as a surprise, avocados contain persin, which can make your dog sick and even easily kill them! The whole avocado is poisonous, including the leaves, skin, etc., so do not give anything with traces of avocado to your pets!

Even Dogs Can Tell When Someone Is Poisoned...
Garlic And Onions
Maybe dogs are vampires?

Although garlic can add great taste to any meal, it's terrible to give to our dogs (and cats)! It contains the chemical thiosulfate, which can cause our animals to become anemic and have gastrointestinal problems. Onions have an even higher thiosulfate amounts and can very easily kill your pets! Onions don't just have thiosulfate though, they also contain allyl propyl disulfide, which not just causes anemia as well, but can also do permanent damage to red blood cells and cause oxygen deprivation!
Sugarless Candies
Not even diabetic dogs can handle them

I sure hope none of you give candy to your dog, because this high sugar content is very unhealthy, but sugarless candy is even worse, surprisingly! Sugarless candy contains the chemical xylitol, which can cause liver damage in your dog and kill it.
Great Dog Health Books
Grapes And Raisins
Hope you don't live on a vineyard

Grapes and raisins are delicious and very nutritious treat for humans, but for dogs it's a whole different story. When eaten, dogs can experience gastrointestinal problems (i.e. vomiting and diarrhea) and may experience kidney failure, which is fatal.
Alcohol
No alcohol for your dog's birthday

I should hope that you NEVER give your dog alcohol, but I know, unfortunately, some people give alcohol to their dogs, especially beer. You should never give your dog beer or alcohol because they have a much faster metabolism and have a hard time processing it, causing the alcohol to hit them HARD.

- Well done! I think you've got them all covered! :-)
In addition to sugarless candies, I'd add a mention of sugarless gum. That's actually the most common source of xylitol. Many people keep sugarless gum in their purse; the dog gets into the purse and snags the gum. So it's worth a warning. :-)

- I am a fanatic about not feeding my dog bad foods. He has wonderful white teeth and is very healthy. He's pretty funny too so I made him a page: http://www.squidoo.com/kyle-the-cow-dog
