Football Season 2007 Has Come to an End
Time to learn everything you may not understand while you have plenty of time before the next season starts! Here's your opportunity to educate yourself a bit about the sport. If you need to learn the basics like the players' positions, scoring, the referees' signals and the rules of the game be sure to visit The NFL Rulebook website!
From its humble beginnings in 1869, when the first intercollegiate game was played between Rutgers and Princeton, football has become a multi-billion dollar business in its professional form.
Once watched by no more than a handful of loyal sideline enthusiasts, football is now available for worldwide viewing. With the advent of cable television, dozens of high school and college games can be watched over Friday and Saturday afternoons. Pro games are televised on Sunday and Monday nights, with at least half a dozen games televised each weekend during the season. At the end of each NFL season, champs from both the National and American conferences meet in the Super Bowl to determine a national champion. This game, always played in January, has been called the most watched sporting event of all time, with a viewing audience from around the entire globe, watching and listening to the televise in dozens of languages.
Although television commercials foot a very large part of the bill, the competition between networks for the coverage rights highly inflates the value of NFL franchises. In nineteen twenty, a franchise cost one hundred dollars. By nineteen sixty, each was worth approximately two million dollars. In nineteen ninety three, when the league decided to expand, selling teams to Charlotte, North Carolina and Jacksonville, Florida, the cost rose to one hundred forty millions dollars per franchise.
So, whether you're a huge fan already, or whether you want to know what all the excitement is about, you've come to the right place.
It's unavoidable; it's contagious; it's a lifestyle; it's FOOTBALL 2007!!

BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW....
In 1893, T. L. Bayne coached both sides of a game between Tulane and Louisiana State. This 1st Tulane coach also built the goalposts, umpired, managed ticket sales, chose the field, and picked the school colors. Bayne was gifted with a green umbrella for his services.
In 1923, the Rutgers kickoff man, Homer Hazel, scored a touchdown against Villanova only 8 seconds after the game clock began. His kickoff went into the end zone where a Villanova player fumbled the ball; Hazel, who ran the 100-yard dash in 10 seconds flat, raced down field and smothered the ball while it was still in play in the end zone.
Tom Dempsey, of the New Orleans Saints, holds the record for the longest field goal in NFL history: 63 yards against Detroit on November 8, 1970. Dempsey has only half a foot and only a stump of a right arm.
The longest undefeated streak in football is held by Washington University. From 1907 to 1917, in 63 games, their record was 59 wins and 4 ties.
The high school team of Hugo, Colo., once had a 3-game stretch in which they scored 386 points, and held their opponents to 6 points.
The greatest number of points scored in a single game by a single player (collegiate) was 100 by Leo Schlick of St. Viator, in 1916. Schlick scored 12 touchdowns in one afternoon.
The most fumbles by a pro team during a season was 56 by the 1938 Chicago Bears. In contrast, the record for fewest fumbles over a season is held by the 1959 Cleveland Browns, who fumbled only 8 times.
The game was between Evanston High School and Green River High School in Wyoming. Green River quarterback Phil Summers said to the referee: "Haven't we got a 5-yard penalty on this?" Then he took the ball from his center and began stepping off the yardage. But he didn't stop until he had reached the end zone 71 yards later. This touchdown provided the margin of victory, 20-13. Green River coach, Jerry McMillan, said Summers had pestered him all season to try the play. "I didn't think it would work," he admitted.
The 1969 Oakland Raiders were penalized 1,274 yards during the season, a professional record.
The New York Giants of 1927 allowed only 3 touchdowns and 20 points all season.
After a 72-0 defeat at the hands of Bucknell College, the Ohio Wesleyan coach, Jack Fouts, was asked what had happened. "We just weren't up for this one," he conceded.
The 1st time the "hidden ball" trick was used occurred in a 1903 game between Harvard and Carlisle. Carlisle was leading 40-0 and coach "Pop" Warner remembered a practice session when one of his players had shoved the ball under another player's shirt. The stunt hit Warner as comedy more than strategy, so he used it against hapless Harvard as a finishing touch to the humorously one-sided game.
A halfback for the University of Washington, J. Haines, scored all the points on both sides during a game against the University of Southern California. On December 7, 1935, Haines ran for a 25-yard touchdown; earlier in the game he'd been hit for a safety by the Trojans. The final score was Washington 6, USC 2.

Choosing the Best Sports Betting Program
1. You are going to suffer losses from time to time. But it is important that you feel secure with the betting system you choose. Therefore, it should come with a guarantee that will make you feel more secure. That guarantee should be offered without any loss of money to you, and with no excuses from the program offerer if you are not completely satisfied.
2. The program should be easy to use. If you are already a professional gambler, you probably do not need the assistance of a sports gambling system to improve your accuracy. More than likely, you are an average person who enjoys sporting events, and should be able to use the system with no prior sports knowledge or betting experience needed.
3. The creator of the program should be qualified and able to provide a history of success in the field. They should have a successful history of sports betting, and preferably an education in the field of statistics which would enable them to set up databases and analyze the input effectively.
4. You should be able to use the program for any major sport, i.e. both major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association.
5. Ratings and rankings are available online through marketplaces such as Clickbank. High gravity and consistent popularity are a necessity. Additionally, testimonials should be immeidately available from satisfied customers of the product.
6. The betting system should require nothing but straight wagers; rather than progressive betting, parlays, arbitrage, betting on both sides of the line or any other gimmicks or, of course, anything unethical or illegal.
7. It should be operable from any part of the world and offer one-on-one support with very little investment.
8. The system should not require betting on every single game in any one sport, or betting on "favorites" or "underdogs." Rather it should involve only betting on particular games that the system calculates to have high chances of success.
The fact is that over 90 percent of sport bettors fail to make a living from betting. Many aimlessly spend away their hard-earned cash because they have no real strategy. While I cannot personally recommend sports betting as a substitute for other home business opportunities, if it is an interest you should be able to make informed decisions about wagering systems on the marketing today.
For additional information on my recommendation for a legitimate sports betting program, which also happens to be the #1 rated product on Clickbank, please visit Sports Betting Champ!.

A Women's Guide To Football
THE SCRIMMAGE OF A FOOTBALL COACH'S DAUGHTER!
George Allen was a top-ranked NFL coach throughout the 1960s and 1970s, coaching in turn the Chicago Bears, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Washington Redskins. Raised in a home dominated by her three football obsessed older brothers and her father's relentless schedule, the author came of age in a cauldron of testosterone and a win-at-all-costs mentality.
While the household was buffeted by the coach's tumultuous firings and hirings, which periodically propelled the family to a new city, Jennifer dreamed of being the first female quarterback in the NFL. But as she grew, she yearned mostly to be someone that her father would notice. In a world where only football mattered, what could she strive for, who could she become?

Sports Enhancement Series: Winning the Mind Game - American Football
"There are two coaches that live in our subconscious mind. One directs the sport skill department & the other directs the emotions & thoughts. If one doesn't show up for the game or competition, then it's next to impossible to participate in high level sports performance or the practice of excellence."... Elizabeth Bohorquez, RN, C.Ht

* Some players that carry or catch the ball wear very tight pants so that when they are running no one can grab their pants to stop them.
* In 1916 Georgia Tech's football team beat Cumberland U., 222-0.
* It takes 3,000 cows to supply the NFL with enough leather for a year's supply of footballs.
* When the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers play football at home, the stadium becomes the state's third largest city.
Amaze your friends at your next party:
American football has been around since the early 1290s. Part of football trivia is that what is now known as the National Football league (NFL) started out as the American Professional Football Association (APFA). Jim Thorpe, a future Hall of Famer, was the first president. There were 14 teams that each paid $100 to join the league.
And finally, here's some football trivia for you that almost sounds like baseball trivia. Were you aware that in the 1934 season, there was a team known as the Brooklyn Dodgers? The Brooklyn Dodgers was also the name of a baseball team until they moved to Los Angeles to become the Los Angeles Dodgers. There were also two other APFA teams that had baseball team names: the Pittsburg Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds. By 1959, the NFL had some competition. The American Football League (AFL) had formed. The AFL signed a five-year contract to have their games broadcast by ABC.
And there you have it -- our favorite sport: FOOTBALL!!

REST IN PEACE, SEAN TAYLOR
R I P SEAN TAYLOR....Washington Redskins star defender Sean Taylor died after being shot by intruders at his home in Miami.
It isn't even about being born in Washington, DC or being a die hard Redskins fan by default. It isn't even about man's inhumanity toward man, or the total disregard for the preciousness of human life in our society today.
We all have varying beliefs and I respect them all. Is there an afterlife? Do our actions on this earth dictate how we spend eternity? Can't it just be enough to simply respect everyone's journey and the challenges and joys that we will each encounter along the way?
I recently read as part of one of my Success University courses that it isn't about what you're going THROUGH, it's about what you're going TO. Sure, it's sad that such a promising athlete's career will never be realized or that all those kids and adults that looked up to him will be denied the chance to watch it unfold. It's sad that the members of his team have been robbed a team mate, his mother denied a son, his girlfriend denied a partner.
It's about that little girl who slept in the bedroom down the hall while his life was being stolen from him. The little girl that was just barely old enough to utter the word 'Daddy.' What possibly could have been worth altering that child's future forever by snuffing out all hope of watching her daddy grow old while he watched her grow up?
You have GOT TO LIVE EVERY SINGLE DAY, like it is your last. Look up and thank your God this morning that he let you see another day...that he gave you another chance to make a difference in the world...in someone's life. Thank Him that you have another chance to realize your dreams or those of your families. Bless Him for giving you the chance to hug your mom one more time or laugh with your friends again before drawing your last breath.
Have you started living the rest of your life yet? Or are you living someone else's?
I'm going to learn something new today, and I'm going to teach it to someone else. And I hope they teach it to someone else. I've been blessed with kids that I adore. So today I'm going to work toward their inheritance. I want to make a difference: in their life, and maybe in yours....
