On April 16, 2011, while attending the Celebrity Sock Hop, which is a fundraising event for the Foundation of Brain Injured Veterans, David Cassidy was presented with the Silver Eagle Patriot Award. This is an outstanding achievement for David.

The Partridge Family show is an American television sitcom about a widowed mother and her five children who embarked on a music career. The family lives in San Pueblo, a town in Northern California. Most people thought that this was a real town, but is a fictional town made up just for the Partridge Family. The series was originally broadcast on ABC from 1970 to 1974.

The original pilot for The Partridge Family was shot in December, 1969 on the Columbia Ranch in Burbank California. In the original version, the family lived in Ohio. Shirley was named Connie Partridge and she dated a man played by Jack Cassidy, her real life husband, and David's real life Dad. Then the completed pilot, incorporating various changes, had to pass an audience research test before it could be approved by the network and given the green-light to go to series. ABC then scheduled the show opposite Andy Griffith's new CBS series, "The Headmaster" on Friday nights -- turning the Partridges into sitting ducks (or so they thought). Little did they know the producers had a secret weapon: a young actor named David Cassidy and a song called "I Think I Love You!". The rest is TV history.

David Cassidy has a passion other than his music and entertainment. He has a love for horses. Growing up, David has loved being around horses since he was 3 years old, which started when he would go to ride pony rides. While filming The Partridge Family, a crew member introduced him to horse breeding, and he has been in love with it ever since.

David currently owns about 30 horses, most of them based in New York with trainer Gary Contessa. They race the entire New York circuit, including Aqueduct, Belmont and Saratoga. He also has horses training in Florida and Canada. David can pick a crossbreed. He can pick the right sire for the right mare. David is a very, very astute horseman when it comes to race horses.

Did you know that David Cassidy first started out playing drums in a garage band? That's right, the drums. But did you alwo know that he can play the guitar, the piano, and the clarinet, which he has been playing since he was 8 years old.

But putting all of musical instrument talent aside, he has a voice that can still melt the hearts of any woman in hearing range of him.

David Cassidy has been married three times. He married his first wife, Kay Lenze in 1977 and was divorced in 1983. His second wife, Meryl-AnnTanze, shared his love of horses and they were married in 1984 and divorced in 1985. David Cassidy married his third wife, Sue Shifrin, in 1991 and they have a son together.

Even though David Cassidy was one of this seasons Celebrity Apprentice stars, he was unfortunately the first to be fired. But David acted in a very dignified manner when he was told the bad news in the board room. And I am sure that we haven't seen the last of him. All of David Cassidy fans are still behind him and hope him the best.
