February 14th is Congenital Heart Defects Awareness Day!!

I have recently had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Mani on a message forum and was intrigued by his words.  You can tell by reading any of his posts that he is truly all about saving children!

Many children who need surgery to help or cure their heart defects so they can live or live a normal life can not afford the surgery expenses!  That's where Dr. Mani comes in!  Dr. Mani is a pediatric heart surgeon from India who has devoted his life to performing surgeries on children with Congenital Heart Defects.

It seems to me that Dr. Mani devotes every second of his time outside of the operating room, working online not only to make people aware of this condition but also owns online buisness that earn money.  What do you think he does with money he earns from his online businesses?  You guessed it!  He uses the funds to pay for the surgeries of needy children.  He just has to be the noblest person ever!!

I decided to do some research on this disease and below you can read some of the facts I learned about Congenital Heart Defects.

More than one out of every 125-150 babies are born every year with a congenital heart defect.  And that's just in the United States!!

Can you imagine being one of the family members of one of these babies or this precious baby itsel and KNOW there's help but cannot afford it?  That would be such an awful thing to happen, but it happens everyday all over the world.

Here is a quote from one of the moderators of a Congenital Heart Defects support group.

"Setting aside a day of remembrance and celebration of the great medical advances which keep our loved ones alive would honor the unseen battle that children and adults with CHD fight daily. The creation of a day of this kind would help to lift the barrier of ignorance, helping both the families and individuals who currently are affected by Childhood Onset Heart Disease, and those whose lives may be affected in the future."

2500 children will die from heart defects today.

So please send this site to your friends, family and everyone you know.  And if possible please go to http://www.chdinfo.com/chdaware/donate.htm and make a donation to Dr. Mani's cause.  A life depends on it!

Thanks,

Rhonda

My daughter was also born with a CHD. I had no idea that there was a "day" set aside to get the word out, that's great.

Are you fed up with work? Maybe your boss is a grade-A pain in the behind. Well, don't fret about your current situation; it's time to look for an alternative route to income. That company office cubicle isn't the only way to earn a living. These days there are opportunities opening up all the time. With the World-Wide-Web in full swing, many individuals are turning to the Internet in search of a money making business. Have you ever considered this new-age road of opportunity?
