Saleen Mustangs
Steve Saleen built his first Saleen Mustang way back in 1984, right near the start of the modern "ponycar war" with the Camaro. It has since become one of the most popular aftermarket tuner cars with a full Ford manufacturer warranty, along with Roush, Cobra and Shelby of course.The most popular Mustang Saleen would have to be the S281, and there is a picture of a 2008 Saleen S281 Mustang posted with this section. While the S281E version of this 'Stang makes a cool 550 horsepower, Saleen has always been known for it's road handling ability. In fact, Steve Saleen has even won the 24 hours of Le Mans, 24 hours of Daytona, and many SCCA championships with these cars as well.

Roush Mustangs
The first Roush Mustang was built back in 2001 by Jack Roush and his company Roush Performance. Then, like today, Roush Mustangs typicall come in three packages, or more accurately stages.Stage 1 Roush Mustang - essentially it's a stock GT (sometimes V6) Mustang with nicer wheels and a body kit, with some Roush badging on the interior and exterior.
Stage 2 Roush Mustang - A V6 or V8 Mustang with the stage 1 kit, plus the addition of some suspension goodies that promised a 1g lateral accelleration.
Stage 3 Roush Mustangs - where the money is at. These were the best of all packages, with both 1+2 and the addition of much needed horsepower - usually by way of a roots style supercharger.
Roush 427R and Sport - these were built on the S-197 platform and first seen in the 2007 model year and replaced the "Stages" commonly used for designation of the performance. Sport was the base model Roush, and the 427R is a bad machine - boasting everything Jack could throw at it and making an impressive 415 horsepower.

SVT Cobra Mustangs
The Ford Mustang SVT Cobra, since 1993, has been one of the more saught after collector cars in the world. With such models as the racing "Cobra R" Mustang up to the GT500 Shelby's (often called Cobras, though they actually weren't). These were the fastest factory production Mustangs of their time, though with today's technology the other tuner Mustang companies are building faster, more powerful and more reliable sports cars then ever before. This was the factory offered upgrade of the popular Mustang GT model, which carried a V8 5.0 or 4.6 engine for all of it's modern life. Favorite Model Ford Mustang
