Foreclosure Homes Secrets

Tips and Tricks to Finding the Best Foreclosure Properties

With so much information out there it is hard to tell which is true, which is out-dated and which is simply full of stuffed keywords. I would like to expose the latest up-to-date information on how to find the best deals on foreclosed / bank-owned properties. Browse through the different subjects and learn how to find the best deals and come prepared to the battlefield of foreclosures!

Secret #1: When to Invest in Foreclosures

Right now! Today we are faced with the worst economy in decades. As unfortunate as it is, people are losing homes very fast due to rising unemployment numbers, but new investment opportunities are being born just as fast. Of course you will still need to do the research for the area you are interested in. Such research might include: similar home values in the area and their closing costs, state and federal laws applying to structuring of the deal, home inspections, environmental hazard testing and lastly - a good real estate agent or a buyer's agent on your side.

Online Foreclosure Listing Websites

Great collection of links to sites that allow you to search for foreclosures and try them out for free.
RealtyTrac
RealtyTrac allows you to search it's extensive database of foreclosed properties in your area or desired area.
Foreclosure.com
Foreclosure.com has millions of listings all over the U.S. in an easily searchable database - Free trial included.
eForeclosuresListings.com
Another great website to help you guide your search for foreclosure properties.

Secret #2: How to find Foreclosed Homes

This is actually a 7 for 1 deal, where you will get seven different ways of finding foreclosed homes fast and easy. Instead of me talking about it here I would like to point you to a very good article I found on "the big foreclosure blog" and describes each of the seven methods of looking for foreclosures. As a quick recap the methods are:

  • Talking to a Real Estate Agent

  • Driving by Foreclosure Signs in Desired Neighborhood

  • Looking at Major Bank Websites

  • Check out Asset Management Companies

  • Look at Government Agency websites

  • Bid at Auction Houses

  • Check the Internet Companies

Secret #3: There Are No Magic Bullets

I know my squidoo page title is misleading but this is on purpose. I want you to realize, that there are no secrets to foreclosure investment, no single magic trick that will make you rich and profitable. You can learn the tips, the hints and get advice from others in the field who have a history of proven success in foreclosure investment and then apply all of that knowledge in your own strategy. Do your research! There is no product, guarantee, trick in the world that will enable you to become rich fast and if you find one that claims otherwise - it's a scam. Don't buy into 1 am infomercials telling you that in just few simple payments of 29.99 you will learn the secrets to becoming ultra rich with foreclosure investment with no money down and no experience necessary. C'mon, it's too obvious this is a scam.

There are resources available to you and they are mentioned in Secret #2. I would also like to point out that to save yourself a lot of time you may pay for a service or use it's free trial to find listed foreclosure homes. This is not a far-fetched secret or trick but it does save you a lot of time from driving around and talking to people all day long.
