In the meantime, let's take a look at what Marcus Leary has achieved using Forex Autopilot.

Right up front, we see a screenshot of one small account that Marcus set up as a demo. At the end of February 2008 he deposited $2,910 into the account by credit card. This was his opening trade balance.

There are then 36 trades until the period finishes on March 19th. Of those, 34 trades were profitable, one showed a loss, and one was flat. That's a pretty impressive strike rate!

The 34 profitable trades average out at $196 each. The smallest is $90, and the largest is $430.

The one loss during this period is larger - $1,240 - and serves to remind us that no system is perfect, and you have to be prepared (and able to handle) losing trades.

Over this period of less than three weeks, Marcus made $6,006 on this one small account. That's a massive 206% gain on his opening balance - goodness knows what this is when compounded up over a year!

There are no guarantees here, of course, and forex is undoubtedly a risky business.

However, when you have a reliable 'robot' at your side, removing the emotion and the human error and just taking cold, calculating decisions designed to make you consistent profits, you could easily be looking at a six-figure income over the course of a year.

Incidentally, in one of the manuals that accompany the software, Marcus tells us that he's back-tested it through 2007 and into 2008. The results were most impressive - over 700% in 12 months!

Specifically, a $10,000 opening account could grow to $74,035 by this time next year!

Of course, back-testing results are no guarantee of future results - but this is a damn fine start!

Forex Autopilot works on the charting package MetaTrader 4 which, in turn, is part of the trading platform for a number of online forex brokers, or free to download, so there's no extra outlay required there.

Marcus recommends Forex Trading Edge, and I have nothing against them at all. However, you might prefer to go with Interbank FX, who are actually market makers as opposed to brokers. That means no commissions, tight spreads, and probably the best live price feeds you'll get anywhere.

Now, Marcus suggests trading a demo account first with the robot, until you get the feel for it. That's good advice because there are quite a lot of settings on Forex Autopilot and, though there's a pretty good handbook that comes with it, it'll take you a while to get the feel for them.

Personally, I'd be nervous about leaving it to run on complete autopilot, at least for now. I'd rather keep a close eye on what it's doing, how it's behaving, and how it's performing. I can't go off on vacation as Marcus suggests (yet, anyway!) but I am finding that I'm learning from what Forex Autopilot does.

Marcus posts results on his site and, as soon as I start trading with this beast for real, I'll do the same here.

All in all, assuming Forex Autopilot performs (and we'll find that out over the coming weeks), this is a very exciting development in the world of forex trading robots. To make it even more exciting, there are two additional 'robots' bundled in with Forex Autopilot, making this quite an incredible deal. (We'll get to the price in a moment, and I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised).

The first is called the Non Farm Payroll Add-On. This cleverly automates trading around the release of the Non Farm Payroll figures in the US, often a time for big moves in the currency markets, and very risky if you're just flying by the seat of your pants.

This robot goes to work five minutes before the announcement, and opens up five pending sell orders, and five pending buy orders, all set at optimal distances from the current price. You'd find that difficult to do well on your own! When the announcement is made, and the market starts to move, the robot selects an order to trigger, and then puts a trailing stop loss in place to protect your position.

Pretty cool, huh? Next time those figures roll around, I'll be giving this one a whirl for sure.

The second bonus robot is called Ultra Trend. It detects a trend, figures out the strength of the trend, the support and resistance levels, and can also incorporate Elliot waves and Fibonnaci lines if required. This sounds somewhat less impressive - just taking some of the grind out of technical trading, rather than actually trading for you - but could still be a useful tool.
