Just the things for French Bulldogs!

Ranked #302 in Pets & Animals, #9,076 overall

We're frequent kissers of Frogdogs! (French Bulldogs!)

Well, two FrogDog! The brindle Frenchie's name is Dax and she's five years old, training in Obedience and Agility and a snorting, snuffling source of joy! The fawn is Teddy and he's a 7-month-old snuggly delight!

According to the American Kennel Club "The French Bulldog has the appearance of an active, intelligent, muscular dog of heavy bone, smooth coat, compactly built, and of medium or small structure. Expression alert, curious, and interested...Well behaved, adaptable, and comfortable companions with an affectionate nature and even disposition; generally active, alert, and playful, but not unduly boisterous."

It doesn't mention silly, adorable, bouncing bowling-balls of fun. But they are.

Here at our shop, Golly Gear, we're very, very familiar with the unique needs of Frenchies. It's not always easy to find a harness that fits that broad chest, toys that stand up to that bulldog jaw, or treats that won't pack on the pounds. Co-owner Hope has two Frenchies and is thoroughly addicted. She makes sure we have the best stuff for French Bulldogs!

The Best Frenchie Harness!

ComfortFlex Sport Harness

Brutus & Carmen in their ComfortFlex HarnessesThis is it! We love it, our Frenchie friends love it, and it's comfy for our dogs! The ComfortFlex Sport Harness is strong enough to hold a Frenchie without choking! No pressure on the dog's neck or back.

Cooling Jacket

Summer is great for getting out and having fun with your Frenchie - as long as you protect your pup from the heat! This Chillybuddy Cooling Jacket uses reflection and evaporation to keep your dog comfy - just keep the coat damp and it continues to work!

Step-in Harnesses from Yellow Dog Design

Yellow Dog Design is known for practical dog accessories with splashy designs. These Step-in Harnesses are just that! The harnesses are well-made, sturdy and comfortable for our French Bulldogs as well as fun and affordable!

You won't find these designs in any other collection - they're unique and copyrighted. These great harnesses are made in the USA. They're colorfast polyester and are machine washable! And all the straps are adjustable.

Tug it!

One of Dax's favorites at playtime is her Timberwolf Rope Toys! Some of these toys are great for tugging, others are great for fetching, but they're all loads of fun! The ropes are great for flossing their teeth and at just 3/8 inch in diameter, they're the perfect size for a great game of tug! Many have 1 3/4 inch diameter rubber balls that our little dogs can sqeeze, others have fun rubber "gears" that are 1 3/4 inches in diameter. The gears have little nubs that clean teeth and massage gums. These toys are made in the USA.

Classy collar

Dax in her Pawprint Leather CollarOmniPetĀ® by Leather Brothers is known for high quality, made in the USA, Signature Leather products for our dogs. These beautiful, classy, Pawprint Collars are a perfect example. The Paw Prints are riveted to the collar, so they won't come unstuck!

Out for a walk - with a Twist Lead!

When you want a collar and leash that are super-easy to put on and get off your little dog, is light-weight but feels substantial, you'll choose the Twist Slip Lead every time. It's a collar and leash combined made by Mendota Products, known for their quality and reliability.

For a chilly day

The Chillybuddy Winter Jacket is a super-warm puffy jacket for your little dog. It's easy to put on - there are hook-and-loop closures at each side of the neck and along the length of the back. There's also an adjustable pinch clasp at the neck. At night, your little one will be easy to see with the reflective stripes. To the right is Dax who doesn't like wearing clothes and is notorious for scraping her coat off - but she hasn't managed to take her Chillybuddy%u2122 Winter Jacket off!

Everyday comfort

The Step-in Harness by Timberwolf is a great basic for our little dogs. It's easy to put on and easy to take off! It's made of high-quality 64 carrier flat braided nylon so it's extremely durable and comfortable.

Everything is adjustable on the Timberwolf Step-in Harness! Not only are the side straps adjustable, but so is the connecting chest strap. The Timberwolf Step-in Harness will adjust for the perfect fit - even for our broadest-chested Frenchies! And, the clasp is curved to follow the contour of your dog's back.

Bow Wow Beanies!

We've been carrying stuffed animals (yes, The Beanie Babies Collection as well as other plush toys) made by Ty for years, so we were really excited to learn about Ty's Bow Wow Beanies made especially for dogs. There is no better quality of stuffed animal than those made by Ty. Bow Wow Beanies are equally well made. They hold up under the fiercest play. And, they crinkle and squeak! How much fun is that?! There are no beans in these Beanies, so no worries about little plastic pellets all over the house! And the features are sewn, not plastic. (As with any toy, their use should be supervised.)

The Soft Harness by Puppia

Another great choice for Frenchies!

Dax in her Soft HarnessThe Soft Harness by Puppia is comfy and stylish. The front and collar portion is made of a cushy polyester air mesh that fits broadly across your dog's chest so he can walk comfortably and any pressure from the leash is distributed evenly across his neck and shoulders instead of at his neck!

French Bulldogs seem to have it all going on for them, something to keep them warm in the chilly air and a cooling blanket on those too hot days...and a line of accessories to assure style at every turn!

Dexter is our first Frenchie, very spunky and king like to other dogs except females and his first bestfriend ever Gus the ABP and of course other Frenchies. Dex likes to drive mommy and Daddy crazy but when he is on his best behavior he is an Angel. I couldnt ask for anything more in a small dog. One question though, I have been feeding hime Hills Science Diet, lately he has been having the runs. Should we change his diet to something else?

Aren't Frenchies wonderful? I'm madly in love with mine! As far as Dexter's diet - if you've been feeding him the same stuff for quite a while and all of a sudden he's not tolerating it well - I'd first visit the veterinarian to make sure nothing else is going on. If he's otherwise healthy, I'd certainly consult the vet, or a dog food specialist to see how you may be able to help him out. There is an astonishing amount of information - and opinion - on the internet about pet food. Try to check the credentials of anyone whose advice you are tempted to implement.
