There is plenty to do in Fort Augustus, you can try a boat trip on Loch Ness where you have an opportunity to see Nessie using the boats sonar equipment!
Then you may want to make the short trip up the road to Urquhart Castle. Its only a 15 min bus/car journey away and it has a perfect location overlooking Loch Ness.

Great Glen Way
People usually pass through Fort Augustus on the 3rd or 4th day depending on the route taken. Along the way there is some fantastic scenery and small towns full of character.
