Relax and enjoy Fort Desoto Park, Florida
Fort Desoto Park is an island off the southern tip of Pinellas County, Florida. It was named America's Top Beach in 2009, by Tirp Advisor and in 2005 was named the nations #1 beach Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman, a.k.a. "Dr. Beach," With 2 beaches, a campground, fishing, boating, nature trails, and the historical fort, your bound to have an enjoyable day or weekend. We go here a couple of times a year and the kids have a ball. Watch the dolphins swimming around the pier. Last time I was there there was a baby dolphin swimming with it's mom. They were in perfect sync as the came out of the water every time. I have never been at this beach when the dolphins were not around.
Pack a lunch and head down to the beautiful Fort Desoto Island and spend the day with family and friends. Spend the weekend at the campground and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the water. Fort Desoto is a pet friendly beach, so bring them along too.

- We love Ft. DeSoto beach. Our family has planned a few birthday parties there. My son's school usually plans a yearly field trip there. He was there a couple weeks ago to do a beach clean up with Tampa Watch. Great lens!
