Welcome to a site devoted to the success of artists large and small!
In my 22 years of working within the music industry what I have noticed as a common mistake of all artists is the lack of discipline towards the business of their craft. There is plenty of time for writing, rehearsal and performance, but promotion and business take a back seat.
I have seen so many talented writers , musicians and performers that have the ability, but not the toolset to succeed. They are willing to do anything to get the "deal", anything but craft a business model early for success. If a standard business ran under these conditions, they would be guaranteed to fail within months of opening.
What I hope to achieve in this series of editorials is to give a guide and a few ideas for artists to be able to
capitalize on the strength of their immediate team. If these ideas are implemented there is a guarantee for growth within the fanbase and industry insiders knowledge of the artist.
