Cleveland Photography

CLEVELAND AS SEEN THROUGH THE LENS OF TERRI'S CAMERA!
Cleveland has a lot of neat things. We have the Terminal Tower and Guitarmania, what a neat combination. (They look good together) We have The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and a great Science Museum. We have a world renowned art museum and orchestra, and a beautiful north coast on one of the Great Lakes. We have The Flats, a great ball park and a lot more....my camera and I think we have an awesome town! I hope that my photography will peak your interest to plan a visit to Cleveland! Cleveland has come a long way since the infamous 'burning river' happening, but hey we now have a beer and brewery named after it, so it just goes to show, every cloud has a silver lining. But what is really important is we now have a CLEANER CUYAHOGA RIVER!!! And even our Great Lake Erie is cleaner!

MERMAIDS BY THE POND

The Lagoon At The Cleveland Museum of Art

This statue of two mermaids graces the grounds of the lagoon by The Cleveland Musuem of Art. It's almost as if they are wistfully looking at the water from whence they came. Are they just bathing in the sun for a brief reprise or are they landbound for all eternity wishing they could go back to their home in the sea?
I chose to photograph them from the back because I wanted to show them by the edge of the water looking out.

Severance Hall

Home of The Cleveland Orchestra

As Clevelanders, we should be proud that we have one of the most renowned Orchestras in the world. It is a true treasure. Pictured here is Severance Hall, the building that our orchestra calls home. This is what it looked like back in 1984. I should take a recent picture to see if it has undergone any renovations.

PROGRESSIVE FIELD

Home of The Cleveland Indians

Cleveland has a great ballpark. If you are a Tribe Fan, and you like to watch baseball, you know how much fun a game can be, especially if the Indians are winning! If you've never been to a game, come on down and join the fun!

"Cabbie Waiting For A Fare"

Night Life In Cleveland's Warehouse District

This is a great night street scene. It recapture's the energy and essence of a summer night in Cleveland's Warehouse District. Of all the images I captured on that particular summer evening, this was my favorite!

North Coast Harbor On A Stormy Night

An example of bad weather photography

If the weather looks threatening, be adventurous, don't put your camera away. There are hidden photo opportunities just waiting for you to capture them. I've seen several shots of this location, so I wanted something different. I kept shooting and it was getting more ominous by the minute. I got what I wanted just as it started pouring. I got a little wet, but it was worth it.

CLEVELAND'S FEDERAL COURTHOUSE

Here is an example of some of Cleveland's unique architecture!

The odd shape of The Federal Courthouse in Cleveland, has fascinated me since it appeared on Cleveland's skyline. I have photographed it from many angles. This angle does capture its unique shape, and nice blue sky and yes that is the moon on the right about a third of the way up from bottom of photo.

Federal Court House at Sunset

Skyscrapers, water and the setting sun produce striking reflections!

Here is another view of Cleveland's Federal Courthouse. I was doing a photo assignment one night down by The Tower City Amphitheatre and I was waiting for the sweet light that occurs right before sunset to complete my photo project. I turned away from my 'assigned' subject and saw this incredible sunset with the court house reflecting in the river. I couldn't let it go uncaptured. Lo and behold, I got a serendipity shot that someone already purchased a copy of, and I got another great view of the Cleveland skyline at sunset featuring the courthouse.

Cleveland at Night

Cleveland Sunsets

The Cleveland Skyline has some great photo ops for sunsets because we are right on the coast of Lake Erie, and we also have a river running into the lake. Because of the reflective quality of water, when the sky is full of color at sunset, those colors are 'painted' in the water and make some awesome photographs.
This shot titled "West Bank At Dusk" is an example of this beauty.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Cleveland, OH - November 29, 2008

This is a beautiful annual ceremony with music and fireworks. I kept shooting until I got exactly what I wanted and the lightworks were mesmerizing!

Cleveland, A Concise History

An Encyclopedia of Cleveland's History - 1796-1996

Starting with the Founding and Formation of the Settlement in the first chapter, all the way through Metropolitan Expansion in the last chapter, this is a very good read with some historical photos. This revised Bicentennial Edition has been brought up to date and includes two new chapters, and new illustrations and charts.

I spent a brief 24 hours in Cleveland and did a walking tour plus the Rock Hall - of course - and captured a few photos. I'd love to go back to spend more time in the city at the waterfront and take in a ballgame. Love your work!

Ah, such good memories of growing up in Cleveland, Ohio and visiting these great sites. There's a good chance I will be leaving Florida and moving back to the Cleveland area! If/when I make it ... we'll need to hook up!
