The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity

The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity, A Simple Guide to Unlimited Abundance, is a book that I am reading by Edwene Gaines. It had caught my attention at the book store, so as normal, I picked it up, flipped it open, and started reading. It spoke to me. It made sense. It flowed. I bought it.

As I'm reading it, I'm becoming inspired, and I'm inviting you to join me.

As I read, I'll post my thoughts about the chapter I've just read and invite your comments and thoughts about what you've read too. Perhaps we can have fun learning and applying the four spiritual laws of prosperity together. I will just post a few things in general from the book to provide some basis for discssion and/or comments.

Here's to our spiritual prosperity, and thanks to Edwene Gaines for writing this book.

Edwene Gaines changed how she handled money and her prosperity improved. She shares her journey and tips in The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity : A Simple Guide to Unlimited Abundance.

The First Law in the book is Tithing

What is tithing?

I've read about tithing before, and have even tried it before, but it never really stuck. I think a lot of it had to do with what I thought tithing was. I was taught that tithing was giving to God, and by the people that had taught me that, it meant giving to the church. But I knew if I asked a leader in the church for guidance, they referred me to God and the Bible. To my understanding, neither God of my understanding nor the book the Bible, seemed to interested in my tithe.

Then I read Edwene Gaines interpretation on tithing, which is also giving to God. Yet Edwene explained that God is the source of your good (my words here.) So then tithing is taking on a whole new meaning for me. I can give to something that is nourishing to me and is supportive of me. Wow! I'm ready to tithe again, for real this time.

What are your thoughts on Prosperity and tithing?

Mike Dooley says that tithing works becuase it is like saying "Yes! I have received! I am abundant! I have so much I can give some away!" .. and this attracts more.

Yes, I agree. It's like what you think and believe, is what you vibrate. When you freely give it opens up the channels.

God is the spirit in which we all live in and breathe, and is in each one of us. That is how we are made. Some people refer to this Spirit as Jesus Christ, but not all. I don't espouse any certain type of religion or name for God. However, I do know there are many ways to know God and to merit increases in and from God.

Nice expose on your point of view of tithing. When I first heard the word tithe I asked what it meant. You give 10% of your earnings to the church and God will multiply and pay it back. I accepted it and did it without thought. I tithed $200 the same month. 30 days later, I received an increase in salary and covered back the $200 I was tithing. Slowly and very much surprised, I started increasing my tithing believing in an increase in salary...sure enough, I was receiving merit increases. When I retired, I was an "expert lump sum collector" where I was employed and covering suits involving over $750,000 in settlements. Needless to say, God also taught me how to line up my personal finances and get all debts paid timely. I love God. Sometimes, just "do" and let God lead you through the steps (by and through the Holy Spirit) and revelation (understanding) will come. Finance is an adventure but only by Christ Jesus.

I am also reading/writing Proverbs as Affirmations

It's a book I wrote, a translation of Proverbs into Affirmations.

It's written so that you can read a chapter a day for the corresponding date. On the first of the month, you can read Chapter 1, and so on. There are 31 chapters. So when need be, you can read an extra chapter on the 30th of the month, and adjust accordingly for February.

Great thoughts and ideas about prosperity abound in Unity teachings too. I tithe for the act of faith in expecting more will follow that it represents. Book sounds wonderful.

I looked over the affirmations. I would like to add that "Source" has a name: Jesus Christ.
Do you have a "relationship" with Christ? Is he real to you? Proverbs are "lessons" for you to follow and "remember" them deep into your spirit. They spring up when you find yourself in a situation where you may need help.

Not everyone's source has the same name, so I leave it open for interpretation.

Hi riarama, I think if you look deeper in the world, you'll find that there is a variety of different kinds of wealth, prosperity; and more and more people are finding that out. As you mention, when one finds spiritual prosperity, the rest follows. So people can have both spiritual prosperity and financial prosperity, as well as prosperity of friends, and so on. Thank you for commenting.

We live in a world that imprints in our mind that prosperity can only be defined by material wealth. What we miss out is that, there is a deeper kind of prosperity-
Spiritual Prosperity, and this is what we need more than financial prosperity. Have spiritual prosperity and everything else will follow.
