Four of Pentacles

Sun in Capricorn

The suit of Pentacles represents the element earth. This is the suit through which we can appreciate what we have been given and it shows how we experience the external world.

Pentacles can represent money matters, resources, security, material concerns, prosperity, wealth, service, status, and physical experiences in the body.

The ability of bringing Spirit to Earth is what makes us whole.

Fours represent structure, stability, foundation, order, predictability, solidity, logic, reason, organization, discipline, manifestation and practical attainment.

Crowley - Lord of Power

The Pictorial Key to the Tarot by Arthur Edward Waite (1911)

A crowned figure, having a pentacle over his crown, clasps another with hands and arms; two pentacles are under his feet. He holds to that which he has.

Divinatory Meanings: The surety of possessions, cleaving to that which one has, gift, legacy, inheritance.

Reversed: Suspense, delay, opposition.

Some Additional Meanings of the Lesser Arcana

Four - For a bachelor, pleasant news from a lady. Reversed: Observation, hindrances.

Beware of obsessive/compulsive behaviour, jealousy and possessiveness. If you wish to receive more bounty and prosperity you must open your hand to receive. You might keep what you own by clinging to it so tightly and not sharing but you will not grow either. Help who you can by sharing what you have - and allow others to help you if they are in a position to do so. What goes around, comes around.
