LED Headlamps and Helmet Lights by FoxFury Lighting Solutions

FoxFury has been making LED lights since 2003 and our bread and butter is LED head and helmet lights. Our lights utilize latest generation LEDs and permit a wider field of vision for increased safety and visibility.

FoxFury views its headlamps as lighting tools, which are designed with the user's unique needs and application in mind. This lens discusses design considerations for our head and helmets lights.

Different Forms for Different Norms

Lets face it...when people think of headlamps they're thinking it's either part of a car or some mining light from the 1970s. Headlamps (what I like to call head and helmet lights) have come a long way and are now available in all kinds of shapes, sizes and intensities.

FoxFury set out to offer the marketplace something completely unique that would allow people to see more of the important stuff that was often missed with conventional headlamps. Seeing wider is sometimes better and it becomes even more important when safety and/or lives are on the line. I've listed our headlamps over the years below. You'll see a progression towards more compact, more lightweight and more powerful form factors. Our lights have gotten brighter and more efficient as LED technology has evolved.

Making Lights Application-Specific

Lights can be rendered application-specific via design considerations like the use of colored LEDs.

For example, many of our Fire models use Green and White LEDs as it is the best color combination to help cut through smoke - both to see and to be seen.

All models are available with white light while some models can be made with specific wavelengths (from UV to IR) within the light spectrum. Wavelength specific lights are essential in Forensics, both Criminal and Fire. For example, UV light, when used in the dark with an orange or yellow pair of goggles, can be used to find serological evidence (semen, saliva, urine). Feel free to try it out in a bathroom or hotel room...but only if you're feeling brave and aren't a germaphobe.

Some lights need extra approvals and design considerations in order to be used in hazardous areas like chemical plants and refineries. Some of our Performance and Signature Series models were built to survive in such demanding environments and earned UL913 certifications that render them intrinsically safe (AKA explosion-proof).

Strap type can also dictate where the light should be worn. Lights with elastic straps are able to be worn on the forehead or baseball cap while lights with silicone straps are better suited for use on safety helmets.

FoxFury's head and helmet lights covers a host of specific applications including Fire, Forensic, Hazardous Area / Intrinsic, Industrial Safety, Law Enforcement and Water Activities.

Aftermarket lighting has greatly evolved over the last few years. With companies offering many different options for off road riding the choices can become cloudy to say the least. This article will focus on helmet mounted lights for dirt bikes, atvs and snowmobiles. First, what use does a helmet mounted light have? Helmet lights provide light wherever the rider looks, this is very useful to spot landings, see around corners, view side trails or terrain, climb and descend steep hills, etc. Over all they make night riding much more safe and fun. For racers they can mean the difference between winning and being the first loser. Many racers actually see their lap times improve at night. Although that appears to be focus and concentration related.

LED tactical torches are a new breed of LED application. When first introduced, LEDs were used for basic lighting functions like on/off indicator lights on electronic devices and small gadgets like keychain lights. As the technology has progressed, the light has been found to have incredible benefits in science as a way to grow indoor plants. As the bulb has been perfect and power consumption reduced significantly, the lights benefit as a rugged, long-lasting handheld flashlight or torch are fully coming to fruition. led grow lights

Beyond your personal use, it's smart to consider the specs of each lamp you're considering. Thinking about which features you do and do not need in an LED light can help you find the perfect product for you. Updates on LED lights here at grow lights.
