Crucial Community Water Tests Now Taking Place

Quote of the day from Cleveland.com "Ohio laws governing gas drilling among most lenient in nation, experts say"

"Braun says his well generates about $100 a month, on which he must pay income tax. 'That's the real joke about this thing,' Braun said. 'Your property value's gone down. And by the time you pay your taxes, you make like $600 a year. This is a zero sum.'...

Quote of the day, continued from Cleveland.com

...Matsko agreed, arguing that any profit could be negated over the long term by a potential loss of property value from unsightly wellheads and the risk of leaks. Many homeowners don't understand the consequences of a lease... 'Your rights are gone forever,'...'You don't know what comes tomorrow.'"

YouTube video: Gas - Farm ruined

From www.DamascusCitizens.org

Pond/Farm Ruined

Overwhelming evidence now exists that the Halliburton's gas drilling process proposed for our area causes contaminated drinking water, carcinogens in the farmland and food chain, torn-up roads, risk of explosions, toxic air pollution, plummeting real estate values, and screeching noise polution.

Hey Popworm
This site is fantastic! Thank you so much for all of your efforts on this fight.
Could you possibly add www.nyh2o.org?
we are a NYC based group working to educate the public about the issue and get a state-wide ban against gas drilling.
and please link to the facebook page also: http://www.facebook.com/reqs.php#/group.php?gid=66142772149&ref=ts

Thank you so much! I am very happy to have found out about this.
Keep up the great work!
best,

in reply to DivideWatch Thanks DivideWatch! And thanks so much for the comment and info on your site. I put a link to it under Blogs, above. What a great site you've got! The more info that comes together and comes out, the harder it gets to believe that these events are "rare", "isolated" or "unrelated to gas drilling".
