Fractals - A Wonder of Nature
Nature not only fills our eyes and minds with beauty and wonder, it also has the gift to grant the seemingly impossible to us. Nature has an almost defiant way of appearing to "break the rules" when it so chooses. For example the tornado that touches the earth in one spot, lifts up and travels to another spot to descend again leaving it's devastating and destructive impression on man.
Nature cleverly breaks "the rules" and imparts a mystery by illustrating fractals in countless displays of wonder. I hope you enjoy the fractals in nature here and take away something new in your appreciation of creation.

What Is A Fractal?
Fractals are a fairly new mathematical concept introduced by French-American mathematician, Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975.
While fractals have mathematic roots, clearly they have been occurring naturally in nature since the beginning of creation.
Fractals are considered to be a geometric figure but a hybrid, if you will, from the run of the mill geometric rectangle or square.

The word "fractal" literally translates from the latin verb "frangere" meaning to break or fragment .

Snowflakes Are Fractals In Nature
A snowflake is a never repeating fractal in nature. A unique display of wonder each and every time it descends to Earth.

A fractal often consists of a pattern that appears more complex as it enlarges. The patterns produced are elaborate and intricate yet at the same time simplistic.
"The laws of nature are but the mathematical thoughts of God."
~Euclid
Fractals In Nature:
Break The Rules Of Math's Unrelenting Preciseness
While mathematical fractals are extremely precise so much so some would agree, boring in their predictability.
Fractals in nature are unpredictable in their distinguishing details while following a recurring path or pattern.

"While the word of God was being read in these majestic hieroglyphics blazoned along the sky. The earnest, childish wonderment with which this glorious page of Nature's Bible was contemplated was delightful to see. All evinced eager desire to learn."

Fractals Bring Harmony To Nature
While math is math, always playing by the rules, never wavering or stepping out of the box, fractals in nature beat to their own free spirited drum and follow a natural pattern that ebbs and flows harmoniously with other species in nature.
"The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man."
~Author Unknown
Flowers, Some Of Natures Most Beautiful Fractals
"We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature trees, flowers, grass grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls."
~Mother Teresa

- An amazing look at nature. It proves beyond doubt that a great creative mind is behind all we see as chaos could never produce such beauty or precise displays. Featured on Blessed by Skiesgreen 2012-2 and also on Earthday and What is Wrong with Planet Earth. Hugs
