Franchising Opportunities in the Philippines

Are you interested to start a franchising business in the Philippines? If yes, you must read this page first. This will serve as a quick guide in the wonderful world of franchising, and will help you decide if you are ready to start your own franchising business in the Philippines, and where to look for franchising opportunities.

What is Franchising Anyway?

Franchising is a contract.

It is a partnership between a corporation and an individual. The contract is to use and capitalize on the company's successful business model and/or it's existing brand awareness (most often called Goodwill) for a faster return of capital.

When you start your franchise business, you are under a joint commitment under other franchisees to get and keep customers and maintain the reputation of the franchisor company. You are also legally bound to follow the system of the franchisor.

Why franchising is such a big hit in the Philippines?

Jolibee Franchise Philippines

One of the best reasons why franchising in the Philippines is such a hit is the reason that there is opportunity for almost anyone.

For large-scale type businessmen, there is the franchise of well-known brands like McDonalds, Jolibee, Bench or The Generics Pharmacy. Typical franchise for these type of franchises range from 20 to 50 million in Philippine Pesos. The main advantage of these is that the investors will ride in a very well-recalled brand name, and a superior business system. Franchise one of these and consider yourself a winner.

For mid-tier business people, franchises of known (but not as well-recalled like Jolibee) brands, like Dermaline, Binalot or Aqua Best are suitable. These range from Php500,000 to around 15 million.

And for the ordinary Juan, micro business franchises are available. These are usually food stalls or food kiosks and they typically range from Php20,000.00 to Php450,000.00.
