Frank Zappa, The Legend
I think there were some great musicians of the 20th century but one stands out most in my opinion, Frank Zappa.
I wanted to share with you one of my favorite musical artists of all time, FZ. I started listening to Zappa in my teenage years during the late 80's.
I didn't discover his older music until later on in life. Now that I've listened to just about everything he put out I've got to say he left behind a thread of music that will live forever.

The Life of Frank Zappa
A Look Into The World of Frank Zappa
Frank Zappa was a highly productive and prolific artist and gained critical acclaim worldwide. He was born on December 21, 1940 and died of cancer on December 4, 1993. I want the memory of Frank to live on forever and to turn you onto his music. If you've never listened to Zappa before you will be very suprised at just how good of a composer he was. Many of his albums are considered essential in jazz and rock history. He is regarded as one of the most original guitarists and composers of his time. He also remains a major influence on musicians and composers of today. He had some commercial success, particularly in Europe, and for most of his career was able to work as an independent artist. Zappa was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997.Frank Zappa is a legendary musician whose style is one that fits into it's own category. The best way to help you understand and know a little bit about this mysterious man is to listen to his music and watch the film footage that he left behind with us. I hope you enjoy this fantastic journey into the life of Frank Zappa.
Zappa was married to Kathryn J. "Kay" Sherman from 1960 to 1964. In 1967, he married Adelaide Gail Sloatman, with whom he remained until his death from prostate cancer in 1993. They had four children: Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen.

Frank Zappa was also a very talented painter whose works can be found in private collections.
The first time I saw a Zappa painting was while watching the t.v.show, American Roadshow,1999. The painting had a stage with actors and people in the orchestra, it was a very striking piece. The painting is right below and was painted while Zappa was in junior college. I've also found some other really cool paintings that I wanted to share with you. This one is titled,"Horny".

Here Are Some Interesting Facts About FZ ~ Link to Bio on IMDB
Zappa is the first, and only up to now, artist to be inducted into both the Jazz and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame.Is known affectionately by his fans by his initials FZ.
He was voted the 21st Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Artists of all time by Rolling Stone.
Frank Zappa was of French, Sicilian, Neapolitan, Greek and Arab ancestry.
Inducted into the Jazz Hall of Fame in 1994
He was then inducted in to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
FZ is buried in an unmarked grave next to, Lew Ayres, in Westwood Memorial Park, Los Angeles, California.
Zappa has an enormous following in the former communist countries of east-Europe.
Zappa released Tinsel Town Rebellion in 1981, it was the first release on his own, Barking Pumpkin Records, recording company

- An amazing tribute to Frank Zappa and you certainly brought back some memories here, so much of our lives are attached to music. Frank had some great things to say and this is particularly appealing to me today, "Without deviation from the norm, 'progress' is not possible." That and all the good music having been written by guys in wigs...and the open mind analogy with the umbrella is just good too...gotta love Frank Zappa!

- I've been listening to Zappa since I was around 10. From the mid 70's on through this week. Halloweens at Stony Brook, the Palladium, the first time I had sex...and the last time I had sex (this week) Great artist, great lens!
